Day 1

Early in the morning, you are picked up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport by your professional safari guide. After a short briefing, begin the scenic drive through Rwanda’s famous “Land of a Thousand Hills,” passing rolling hills, terraced farms, and vibrant rural communities. En route, enjoy beautiful countryside views as you head south toward the Cyanika border. After border formalities, continue into Uganda toward the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and spend the afternoon relaxing, enjoying forest sounds, and preparing for the next day’s gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight near the park.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking in Rushaga – Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Rushaga Gorilla Trekking briefing point for orientation by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You are assigned a gorilla family and guided into the dense rainforest in search of these magnificent primates. The trek can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas, but the reward is extraordinary. Once found, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat watching them feed, interact, play, and rest just meters away. After the trek, return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, begin the drive back through Uganda and Rwanda, arriving in Kigali in the evening for hotel drop-off or onward departure.
