Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha after breakfast, driving through the picturesque countryside toward Lake Manyara National Park, located beneath the dramatic cliffs of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Upon arrival, you will embark on a full-day game drive through this compact yet diverse park, known for its groundwater forests, acacia woodlands, and alkaline lake. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and a spectacular variety of birdlife including flamingos and pelicans along the lakeshore. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park surrounded by nature before continuing your afternoon wildlife exploration. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileen’s Tree Inn, where you can relax and unwind in a peaceful garden setting.

Arusha national park and departure

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Arusha National Park, a gem known for its diverse ecosystems and stunning landscapes. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive through the park’s lush montane forests where black-and-white colobus monkeys leap through the trees, and herds of buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and warthogs roam freely. Depending on time and preference, you may also enjoy a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger, offering a unique opportunity to experience wildlife up close on foot. Explore the beautiful Momella Lakes, often dotted with flamingos, and admire views of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest peak. After a rewarding morning and picnic lunch in the park, you will return to Arusha in the afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or transfer to the airport for your onward departure, marking the end of your memorable 2-day safari adventure.
