Ngorongoro crater To Lake Manyara National Park

Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders and a highlight of any Tanzania safari. Located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the crater is the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera, formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano collapsed inward.

The crater floor covers approximately 260 square kilometers and is home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Due to its natural enclosure and permanent water sources, animals remain in the area throughout the year. Visitors can easily spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and the rare black rhino—within a single game drive. Large herds of zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and hippos also thrive in this unique ecosystem.

Best Time To Visit June to October (Wildlife viewing is best)
High Season Most of the year – July to March (Expect crowds)
