Visit the spectacular Top of the Falls, where the mighty Nile is forced through a narrow gorge, creating a dramatic explosion of water and mist. Rise early for a rewarding morning game drive across the savannah plains of Murchison Falls. Keep your eyes open for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and, with luck, lions and other predators. Return for lunch and some relaxation before heading out on an afternoon boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. Cruise towards the base of Murchison Falls, watching hippos, crocodiles and large herds of elephants gathering along the riverbanks. Bird lovers will also have plenty to enjoy.

Start the day with a visit to a local tea and canola plantation, offering an opportunity to discover Uganda’s agricultural traditions and meet some of the people behind these important crops. Later, explore the famous Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation project where nature and local livelihoods come together. Walk through the wetland with a local guide while looking for monkeys and colourful birdlife. Along the way, learn about local coffee making, traditional crafts and banana beer production. Continue through the beautiful Fort Portal crater landscape, with scenic views of volcanic craters and tea-covered hills, before travelling onwards to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Stop at the Equator for memorable photographs before continuing to your lodge.

You may also encounter red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and numerous forest birds. In the afternoon, enjoy one of Uganda’s classic wildlife experiences — a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.
