Your adventure begins with a pick-up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your preferred location in Nairobi. After a safari briefing, drive north through the central highlands of Kenya, passing scenic farmlands and small rural towns before gradually descending into the semi-arid landscapes of northern Kenya. You will arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch at your lodge or camp. Later in the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across this rugged reserve known for rare northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River that flows through the park attracts numerous wildlife including elephants and predators, offering excellent photographic opportunities before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Spend a full day exploring the unique ecosystems of Samburu National Reserve with extensive game drives across its acacia-dotted plains and riverine forests. The reserve is renowned for its distinctive wildlife species often referred to as the “Samburu Special Five,” which are rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya. As you traverse the reserve, your guide will help track elephants moving along the Ewaso Nyiro River and possibly spot lions or leopards resting in the shade of the trees. Day 3

After breakfast, depart Samburu and journey south toward the Great Rift Valley, arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park around midday. The drive offers beautiful scenic viewpoints as you descend the escarpment into the valley. After lunch, enjoy a game drive through this compact but wildlife-rich park famous for its rhino sanctuary. The alkaline waters of Lake Nakuru attract a variety of birdlife including flamingos and pelicans, while the surrounding woodlands provide habitat for Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalos, zebras, and both black and white rhinos. The park’s acacia forests and open grasslands also offer opportunities to encounter lions and elusive leopards. Enjoy breakfast before departing for the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, driving through the dramatic landscapes of the Rift Valley and passing traditional Maasai villages along the way. Arrive at your camp or lodge in time for lunch and some relaxation. Later, set out on a game drive across the vast golden savannahs that make the Mara one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. The reserve hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife including elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and large herds of grazers. The open plains make wildlife viewing especially rewarding as animals roam freely across the ecosystem. The Mara is also globally famous for the Great Migration, when thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the plains. Today is dedicated to exploring the spectacular landscapes of Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve’s vast grasslands, scattered acacia trees, and river systems create ideal habitats for a remarkable variety of wildlife. As you traverse different sections of the park, your guide will interpret animal behavior and help locate the resident predators that the Mara is famous for. Large prides of lions often rest in the shade during the day, while cheetahs can be seen scanning the plains for prey. Along the Mara River you may spot hippos and crocodiles basking on the banks. The day offers endless photographic opportunities as wildlife interactions unfold in their natural setting. In between game viewing, enjoy the breathtaking scenery that stretches endlessly across the horizon before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart the Mara and travel back across the Rift Valley toward the tranquil freshwater lake of Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic boat ride across the lake where you may see hippos submerged in the water and a variety of birds such as fish eagles, kingfishers, and cormorants. Later, continue to Crescent Island for a guided nature walk. This private sanctuary allows visitors to walk safely among grazing wildlife including giraffes, zebras, and antelopes while enjoying spectacular views across the lake and surrounding escarpments. Following breakfast, depart the Rift Valley and drive south through Nairobi toward the magnificent landscapes of Amboseli National Park. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation while enjoying views of Africa’s highest mountain rising in the distance, Mount Kilimanjaro. Later, embark on a game drive across Amboseli’s open plains and seasonal wetlands. The park is renowned for its large elephant herds that roam freely against the dramatic backdrop of Kilimanjaro. You may also encounter buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and numerous bird species inhabiting the marshlands. The scenery is particularly stunning as dust-covered elephants walk across the plains with the snow-capped mountain towering behind them. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Amboseli offers excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly for elephants that roam the plains in large family groups. Throughout the day your guide will take you to different areas known for wildlife activity, including the observation hill where you can enjoy panoramic views of the park and surrounding landscapes. One of the highlights of Tsavo West is the beautiful Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear waters emerge from underground streams flowing from the Chyulu Hills. The landscape gradually changes into vast open plains dotted with acacia trees and red-soiled terrain that gives Tsavo East its distinctive appearance. As you explore the park, you may see large herds of elephants often covered in the park’s red dust, as well as lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelope species. The park is also home to the scenic Galana River, which supports a wide range of wildlife and birdlife along its banks. Eventually you will arrive at the beautiful white sandy shores of Diani Beach, one of East Africa’s most stunning beach destinations. Upon arrival at your beach resort, your safari concludes, allowing you to relax and enjoy the tropical ocean views, warm climate, and peaceful surroundings after an unforgettable wildlife adventure across Kenya.
