Upon arrival, we receive a warm Tanzanian welcome and are transferred to our accommodation in Arusha. If time allows, we can explore the city’s charming highlights from the fascinating Cultural Heritage Center and vibrant Maasai and local food markets to a tranquil canoeing experience on the scenic Lake Duluti.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Today marks the start of our safari adventure! After breakfast, we are picked up from our hotel around 8:00 a.m. and embark on a scenic 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Upon arrival, our guide completes the park formalities before we set off on an exhilarating 6–7 hour game drive.

As we explore, we are greeted by Tarangire’s iconic landscapes vast plains dotted with ancient baobab trees and home to some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. The park also supports a rich diversity of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a colorful array of birds.

Around midday, we enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot overlooking the Tarangire River, a vital lifeline for wildlife during the dry season. Afterwards, we continue our game drive through the park’s stunning terrain before departing in the evening for Karatu, where we check in at our lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Central Serengeti

Central Serengeti

After a delicious breakfast, we hop into our safari Jeep and set out for the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Our journey takes us through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where we pause briefly (about 10–15 minutes) to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Ngorongoro Crater.

We then continue along a rugged but rewarding route, driving approximately 5–6 hours until we reach the Naabi Hill Gate between 2 and 3 p.m. Here, we enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch before embarking on our evening game drive across the vast Serengeti plains.

During this 4-hour adventure, we have the chance to witness Africa’s most iconic wildlife from lions and leopards on the hunt to elephants, giraffes, zebras, and countless antelopes roaming freely across the savanna. As the golden sun sets over the endless plains, we make our way to our Serengeti lodge or camp, where a warm dinner and a peaceful night under the stars await.

Day 4

Northern Serengeti

After a hearty breakfast, we embark on a scenic 3-hour drive to the Northern Serengeti, where one of nature’s most extraordinary spectacles unfolds. Millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes converge here during their great migration, sometimes braving the crocodile-filled Mara River on their way toward Kenya’s Masai Mara.

The day is filled with thrilling wildlife encounters, as predators take advantage of the abundance, offering unforgettable moments of nature’s drama. Around midday, we pause for a picnic lunch amid the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the vast savannah.

After lunch, our safari continues with more game viewing, before we transfer in the evening to our lodge in the Northern Serengeti, where we relax and spend the night immersed in the heart of the wild.

After breakfast, we set out for an early morning or sunrise game drive in the Northern Serengeti, a prime location to witness the legendary Mara River crossing, where millions of wildebeests navigate the crocodile-filled waters. Spending extra time here gives us the best chance to see this breathtaking spectacle.

The area is also home to abundant predators, including lions and leopards, making for an action-packed day of wildlife encounters. Around midday, we pause for a picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti.

In the afternoon, we continue with a game drive as we make our way to the Central Serengeti, where we settle in for dinner and an overnight stay at our lodge or camp.

Today, we rise early before sunrise and enjoy a hearty breakfast before departing for the Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, we descend into the crater, taking in breathtaking views of its walls and the morning light spreading across the plains.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a unique wildlife haven, home to a remarkable variety of animals, including Africa’s famous Big Five: lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and leopards. It’s also one of the rare places where we might spot the elusive black rhino.

Around midday, we enjoy lunch at the hippo pool picnic site, surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature. After lunch, we continue with a game drive through the crater, before ascending in the evening and returning to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
