Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your journey begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. You travel southwest through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing rural villages, farms, and the rolling hills that have earned the country the nickname “Pearl of Africa.” Along the way, you will stop at the Uganda Equator Line for photos and a short break. After lunch en route, continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. Check in at your lodge, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers of Uganda Wildlife Authority. You will then begin your trek through the dense rainforest of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can take anywhere from one to several hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is extraordinary. Once the gorillas are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and reflect on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Return to Kampala

After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala, enjoying scenic views of Uganda’s countryside along the way. There will be stops for lunch and short breaks during the drive. Take in the landscapes of rolling hills, tea plantations, and rural villages as you travel north. You will arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the late afternoon or early evening. This marks the end of your gorilla trekking adventure.
