Day 1

Transfer from Entebbe to Kibale

Your safari begins with an early morning drive from Entebbe as you travel west through Uganda’s scenic countryside toward Kibale Forest National Park, a journey of about 5–6 hours. Along the way, enjoy views of traditional villages, tea plantations, and rolling hills that showcase the beauty of rural Uganda. Upon arrival in the Kibale region, you will check in at your lodge and relax to prepare for an afternoon guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community-run wetland is rich in biodiversity and is famous for its birds and primates. During the walk, you may spot species such as black-and-white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and a variety of colorful birds including the great blue turaco. The peaceful swamp trails and lush vegetation make this experience both relaxing and rewarding. After the walk, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee trekking adventure.

Day 2

Transfer to Qeen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer to Qeen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, you will head to the briefing point in Kibale Forest National Park for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced park rangers, you will walk through the tropical rainforest in search of the lively Chimpanzee. The forest comes alive with their calls as you track them through the trees. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these intelligent primates as they feed, groom, and interact in their natural habitat.

After the trekking experience, you will continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax while enjoying the peaceful savannah surroundings before dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Morning game drive and afternoon boat

Morning game drive and afternoon boat

The day begins with an early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, exploring the vast savannah plains in search of wildlife. During the drive, you may spot elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs, and with luck lions or leopards returning from their night hunt. The cool morning hours offer excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. After the game drive, return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, a natural channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. The cruise provides close views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and large herds of buffaloes gathering along the shores, as well as many species of water birds. After this relaxing wildlife experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park and begin the scenic drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through the beautiful Ishasha sector, an area famous for its unique tree-climbing lions that are often seen resting on fig tree branches. With luck, you may spot these remarkable predators during a short game drive as you pass through the area. The route continues through rolling hills, rural villages, and terraced farmlands that characterize southwestern Uganda’s stunning landscapes. Upon arrival near Bwindi, you will check in at your lodge and relax while enjoying views of the surrounding rainforest. This ancient forest is home to the endangered Mountain Gorilla and many other wildlife species. Dinner and overnight at the lodge as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 5

Gorilla Trekking Experience

Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing from the park rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will hike through the dense rainforest in search of the endangered Mountain Gorilla. The trek can take several hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family, but the experience of meeting these gentle giants in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable. Once the gorillas are located, you will spend one magical hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact.

After the trek, you will continue your journey to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation. Surrounded by terraced hills and dotted with beautiful islands, the lake offers a peaceful atmosphere perfect for unwinding after the trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Lake Mburo is known for zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, and hippos, with leopards sometimes appearing at dusk. The evening light is perfect for wildlife viewing and photography.
