Day 1

Entebbe – Shoebill Tracking

Entebbe – Shoebill Tracking

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for a short rest and refreshing. In the afternoon you will head to Mabamba Swamp for a shoebill tracking excursion, on a boat ride you will catch sight of the monstrous historical shoebill and hundreds of other rare African endemics.
In the evening, you will return to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Via Kabale

After breakfast your private driver guide will pick you up at your hotel and embark on a journey Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to mountain gorillas. The journey from Entebbe to Kisoro is long taking about 9 hours on a smoothly surfaced road, the last leg of the journey is on a dirt road taking about one and a half hours through the forested mountain landscape to the lodge.
You will have lunch en-route in Mbarara, have a photo session at the Equator in Kayabwe. On this journey you will have numerous stops to capture a great photo moment.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking Excursion

Gorilla Trekking Excursion

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing by 7:00 am.
Bwindi gorilla trekking excursion briefing starts at 07:30 am at the visitor’s centre conducted by a ranger guide, who will take you through the rules and regulation to follow while in the forests and the right way to behave while in the presence of mountain gorillas.
After being briefed, in groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek. Then head into the forests of Bwindi with your rangers looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours and once you find them, you can observe them for about an hour at a distance of 10 metres. Observe them play, feed and groom each other.
Later trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet your guide, be awarded your gorilla trekking certificates and head back to your lodge for an evening of rest, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4

Optional Activities

Optional Activities

Today you will take part in some optional activities to keep you entertained throughout the day. Otherwise, you can chill at your forest cottages for a relaxing holiday.
• Stay at your lodge and relax, read a book, join a cooking class or take a walk around the property and interact with the locals.
• Return to the jungle of Bwindi for a second gorilla, or join a gorilla habituation experience giving you more time with the gorillas. But you must have pre-booked the trekking permit.
• Drive down to Lake Mutanda for a traditional dug-out canoeing experience with some of the most enchanting views on the volcano lake.
• Take part in a forest walk either on a Batwa Forest Trail or the Circular Trail through Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, this trek is not for mountain gorillas but everything else ethereal about the jungle
• Go on a sundowner picnic on top of the world with 360-degree spellbinding views of the hilly landscape.

Day 5

Drive from Bwindi to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Entebbe with en-route lunch in Mbarara. Arrive in late afternoon, your guide will drop you off either at your hotel or at Entebbe International Airport bringing your tour to an end.
