Your safari begins with a morning pickup from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your Nairobi hotel or residence. Meet your professional driver-guide and travel through the spectacular Great Rift Valley, stopping briefly at a scenic viewpoint for photographs. Continue through Narok and arrive at Miti Mingi Eco Camp near the Maasai Mara in time for lunch and check-in. After some relaxation, depart for an exciting afternoon game drive across the reserve’s open plains, searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests and other wildlife. An optional Maasai village visit can be arranged at an additional cost. Return to Miti Mingi Eco Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Sunrise to sunset game drive

After breakfast, leave Miti Mingi Eco Camp with a packed picnic lunch for a full-day game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Explore the reserve’s sweeping grasslands, acacia-dotted plains and riverine areas as your driver-guide follows recent wildlife movements. Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes and abundant birdlife. Stop at a designated picnic site for lunch before continuing your afternoon wildlife viewing. During the migration season, generally from July to October, large wildebeest and zebra herds may be present within the greater Mara ecosystem. Their locations change naturally, so specific sightings and river crossings cannot be guaranteed. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Full day in the wild

Begin the day with breakfast before setting out for another full-day game drive, allowing you to explore areas of the Maasai Mara that were not covered the previous day. Depending on wildlife movements and road conditions, your driver-guide may take you towards the Mara River, where hippos and Nile crocodiles can often be observed. During migration season, the surrounding plains may host large herds of wildebeests and zebras, followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas. River crossings are unpredictable natural events and cannot be guaranteed. Enjoy your packed picnic lunch at an approved location before continuing the afternoon game drive. Return to Miti Mingi Eco Camp in the evening for dinner and your final overnight stay in the Mara.

Masai Mara - Nairobi

After breakfast at Miti Mingi Eco Camp, check out and bid farewell to the Maasai Mara. Begin your return journey to Nairobi, travelling through Narok and the beautiful Great Rift Valley landscapes. Lunch will be provided during the journey. Arrival in Nairobi is expected during the afternoon, although the exact time will depend on traffic and road conditions. Your driver-guide will drop you off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your Nairobi hotel or residence, marking the end of your memorable four-day Maasai Mara safari with MetLife Africa Safaris Ltd. Guests departing on an international flight should book an evening departure or arrange an additional night in Nairobi.
