Mombasa to Saltlick

Begin your safari with a convenient pick-up in Mombasa, either from Moi International Airport or your hotel, where you will meet your professional driver-guide for a short briefing. Depart for Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, enjoying a scenic drive through changing landscapes from the coastal region to the inland plains.

Arrive in time for lunch at the iconic Salt Lick Safari Lodge, renowned for its unique design overlooking a busy waterhole. After check-in and some relaxation, embark on an afternoon game drive within the sanctuary, where you may encounter elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, and a variety of antelope species.

Saltlick to Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast at Salt Lick Safari Lodge, you will check out and depart for Amboseli National Park, enjoying an en-route game drive as you exit Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey takes you through scenic plains and local settlements, with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way.

Upon arrival in Amboseli, you will proceed on a game drive en route to Kibo Safari Camp, set against the magnificent backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. After check-in and lunch, you will have time to relax before heading out for an afternoon game drive in search of elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and a wide variety of birdlife.

Return to the camp in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Full day in Amboseli National Park

Spend a full day exploring Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game drives, offering ample time to experience its exceptional wildlife and scenic beauty. The early morning game drive provides the best opportunity to view Mount Kilimanjaro in clear conditions, as well as to spot active wildlife across the open plains, including large herds of elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and abundant birdlife.

Return to Kibo Safari Camp for lunch and some relaxation before heading out again for an afternoon game drive, further exploring the park’s diverse habitats of swamps, savannah, and acacia woodland.
