1-Day Mt Kilimanjaro Hiking via Lemosho Route

A day trip to Mount Kilimanjaro via the scenic Lemosho Route offers a glimpse of the mountain’s untouched beauty without requiring a full summit trek. The tour begins early morning (06:00) with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi, followed by a 3–4 hour drive to Londorossi Gate for registration, then continuing to the trailhead where your hike starts through the lush rainforest, home to colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, colourful birds and towering trees. You will trek for about 2–3 hours to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp) at around 2,650 meters, where you will enjoy the peaceful surroundings, have your packed lunch and relax before descending back along the same route (2–3 hours) to meet your driver and return to Arusha or Moshi, arriving in the early evening; this trip is perfect for travellers with limited time who want to experience Kilimanjaro’s rainforest ecosystem and the quieter Lemosho Route in a single day.
