Arusha to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your hotel, our driver will pick you up and drive you to Arusha Airport (ARK). Flights are also available from Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) but are more expensive. Arrival times vary depending on which part of the Serengeti you arrive in. Generally, the arrival time is around noon. Your safari guide (who will have left the day before) will meet you at the airstrip, and you will immediately proceed on a game drive. There will be a picnic-style lunch inside the park, and game viewing will continue until late afternoon. Then, you will be taken to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight rest.

The day is yours to use as you prefer between game viewing and enjoying your accommodations. Some of the lodges/tented camps have plenty of wildlife roaming the grounds (they are not fenced/walled) and offer excellent amenities. It might not be a bad idea to have a morning game drive, spend the afternoon at the accommodation, and then a short late afternoon game drive - the choice is yours. Overnight will be at the same accommodation.

Would you ever get tired of these many days at one location? No! Again, the day is yours to spend however you like. It is your safari, so don’t be afraid to make your desires known to your guide. If you like, you can take an early-morning balloon safari. You will be taken to the launch site before sunrise, go through a safety briefing and lift off as the sun is rising. The actual flying time is approximately 1 hour. The experience finishes with a sparkling wine (or juice) and a full English breakfast in the wild. This option adds $600 per person to the itinerary price and must be booked in advance by SereSafari Africa. The experience will end before 11 a.m., and you can proceed with your itinerary after that. Dinner and overnight rest will be at the same accommodation as the previous nights.

You will have an early-game drive in the park for last-minute wildlife viewing. Enjoy breakfast, then your guide will drive you to Arusha and drop you off at the airport for your flight, marking the end of your Tanzania safari. We can arrange a day room at a hotel near the airport (extra charge).
