Home to over 120 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought-after safari destinations in the world. It's a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippopotamus enjoying the cool water.

After breakfast, depart Tanzania and journey toward the Kenya border at Namanga before continuing to Amboseli National Park.
You reach the Namanga border post around mid-morning to early afternoon, where immigration formalities are completed.
By late afternoon, you arrive in Amboseli and check into your lodge or camp. After a short rest, you head out for your first game drive in this iconic park.
As the sun sets, the silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro often becomes more dramatic, with soft pink and orange hues lighting up the sky behind it.
You return to your lodge as darkness settles over the park. The night in Amboseli is calm yet alive with distant calls of wildlife. After breakfast in Arusha, you begin your journey northward, leaving behind the green foothills of Tanzania’s highlands.
As you continue, the landscape gradually opens into wide savannah plains dotted with acacia trees and scattered Maasai homesteads.
