Our Uganda safari adventure begins in Entebbe where you will meet our representative at Entebbe International Airport upon arrival, he will help you with your baggage and drive you to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe for an evening of rest and overnight stay.

Drive to Kibale Forest

Enjoy breakfast, meet your driver guide who will brief you about the safari before we leave Entebbe and journey to Kibale Forest. The drive takes approximately 7 hours and upon arrival, we check in at the lodge and spend the rest of the day at relaxation.
Kibale Forest National Park dubbed as the Primate Capital of Africa is home to 13 primate species, there are nine diurnal primates including vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s, red –tailed, black and white colobus and blue monkeys, plus grey-cheeked mangabey, olive baboons and, the most of all – chimpanzees. Although chimpanzee sightings are not guaranteed, the odd of encountering them are very good.

Day 3

After an early breakfast, we head into the depths of the lush, green Kibale Forest in search of chimpanzees. While trekking you will be surrounded by birdsongs and can expect to see at least five or six types of primates, most probably grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys and, of course chimpanzees.
The walking is fairly easy with well-maintained trails and reasonably flat terrain. After an hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, we head to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary in the Magombe wetland. This sanctuary is a major tourist attraction in the Kibale Forest area and is operated by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental Development, a community-based organization. Also, it is also a natural haven for birds and other monkeys, such as vervets, olive baboons, and colobus monkeys, which we hope to spot with the help of our community guide.

Day 4
Optional second chimpanzee trek; Crater Lakes Walk

Today, there is the option of doing a second chimpanzee trek this morning to increase the probability of seeing them.
In the afternoon, we embark on the Crater Lakes Walk around Kibale National Park. This two to three hour tour offers the chance to explore beautiful crater lakes at the edge of Kibale.

Day 5
Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which takes approximately seven to eight hours with stop in Mbarara for lunch, before continuing through Kamwenge Rukunguri to get to Bwindi.
On arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Today, you will spend the day at relaxation. You have the opportunity to join an optional activity including the Batwa Experience, a three to four-hour cultural experience, in which you can learn about the lives of the indigenous Batwa people, a forest walk or the Ride 4 a Woman community experience.

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forest with armed ranger guide looking for mountain gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Once you locate them, you are allowed to spend only one hour in their presence watching them play, feed and groom.
Then trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and return to your lodge for an evening of rest, have dinner and overnight.

Day 8

Today is a free day in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and there is the option of doing a second gorilla trek or just rest. You head back to the forest for an encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas, this time you will visit a different gorilla family.

Day 9
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, leave the misty forests of Bwindi, heading towards Lake Mburo National Park. En route, we stop in Kabale near the Rwandan border for lunch. The drive should be about five hours.
Lake Mburo National Park is the only place in southern Uganda where you can see zebras, girafes and impalas and is a great place to tree to see leopards. Also, it is home to more than 300 bird species and offers the possibility of game walks and game drives.

Day 10

After breakfast, we go on final game drive looking for plains wildlife. The park has a network of game tracks in the eastern part of the park passing a variety of landscapes that is acacia woodland, wetlands, grassy hillsides, rocky outcrop seasonally flooded valley floors. The early morning and late afternoon are the best times to roam the park in search of wildlife.
Also, there is the option of tracking game on foot through the savannah and going on a boat excursion, particularly good for birdlife. Also, you have the option of going on an early morning game walk. Accompanied by a ranger guide, you will walk to a salt lick where many animals are attracted to the salty rocks. At this time of the day, you may encounter hyenas returning to their dens and hippos retreating to the lake. The lake itself is rich with a diversity of animals and plants, and these can be viewed clearly on a boat trip.

Today is your final day on a Uganda Safari, we return to Entebbe where you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
