The Giant Herds of Tarangire

After an early breakfast in Arusha, you will head to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive baobab trees and the largest density of elephants in Tanzania. The Tarangire River is the primary water source in the region, attracting diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, and over 500 species of birds. You will spend the day traversing the golden savannah, stopping for a picnic lunch overlooking the river’s scenic banks.

The park offers a rugged, wild atmosphere that serves as a perfect introduction to the vast landscapes of the Northern Circuit. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and drive through the vibrant highland scenery toward the town of Karatu. Wake up to a spectacular sunrise over the savannah for a full day of exploration in the legendary Serengeti. Your expert guide will track the movement of the great herds and the predators that follow them across the vast landscape. This day is dedicated to deep-field game viewing, allowing you to venture further into the hidden valleys and watering holes where leopards and cheetahs often hunt. Whether following the Great Migration or searching for the "Big Five," the day offers unparalleled photographic opportunities. You will return to Serengeti Classic View for a second night, enjoying dinner under a canopy of stars. An optional early morning Hot Air Balloon Safari is available for an extra cost.

You will spend the morning exploring the crater floor, from the lush Lerai Forest to the shimmering waters of Lake Magadi.

After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, you will begin your ascent, enjoying one last panoramic view from the rim. The journey back to Arusha takes you through the scenic highlands and past vibrant local markets. You will arrive in the late afternoon with incredible stories from your grand expedition.
