Day 1

Your safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, heading towards the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. A stopover is typically made in Narok town, a key trading center for the Maasai community, where you can stretch, refresh, or have a simple lunch depending on your package inclusions. From Narok, the road becomes more rugged.

Upon arrival at your budget camp or lodge located near or within the reserve, you will check in and settle into simple but comfortable accommodations. After some rest, you head out for an introductory evening game drive. This is a great opportunity to start spotting wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, and possibly big cats as they become active in the cooler hours of the day.

You will return to camp in the evening for dinner, where you can relax around the dining area and share experiences with other travelers. The night is spent immersed in the sounds of the African wilderness, marking the perfect start to your safari adventure.

After breakfast, you check out of your camp and begin your journey towards Nakuru, traveling through the Great Rift Valley floor. This is a transition day that connects two distinct ecosystems, offering a change in scenery from the vast savannah plains of the Mara to the greener landscapes around Nakuru. Upon arrival in Nakuru, you check into a budget hotel or lodge. Lunch and afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner is served at the lodge, and overnight is in Nakuru, preparing for the next day’s early game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 4

Nakuru – Hells Gate National Park

The day begins with an early breakfast followed by a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, a compact but wildlife-rich park. Known for its rhino sanctuary, the park offers one of the best chances in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. Other animals commonly spotted include Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and a variety of birdlife.

After the game drive, you exit the park and proceed to Lake Naivasha, arrive, you check into your budget accommodation and enjoy lunch.

This is the longest travel day of the safari, as you journey from the Rift Valley region to Amboseli National Park near the Kenya-Tanzania border. After an early breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park.

Upon arrival, you check into your budget lodge or camp located just outside or near the park followed by late lunch.

The evening is usually relaxed, allowing clients to recover from the long drive. Depending on arrival time, there may be a chance for views of Mount Kilimanjaro, weather permitting.
