Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

You will begin your journey early in the morning with a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, located in southern Kenya. Upon arrival, you will check in at your accommodation and have time to settle in and relax. In the afternoon, you will head out for an exciting game drive across the park’s open landscapes.

Amboseli is well known for its stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. The park is largely made up of a dry ancient lakebed and wide grasslands, dotted with patches of acacia woodland. In the southern region, small volcanic hills add to the dramatic scenery. Around the swamp areas such as Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok, the environment becomes greener and more fertile, supporting lush vegetation including yellow-barked acacias and graceful palm trees.

The park is especially famous for its large elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days.

Amboseli National Park

You will rise early in the morning to enjoy clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds gather over its snowcapped peak, with a packed lunch prepared for the day. After breakfast, you may choose to visit a traditional Maasai village, where you will experience their vibrant culture through songs, dances, and ceremonies that form an important part of their daily life and traditions. You will also gain insight into their homesteads and community structure, offering a meaningful cultural encounter.

Later, you will explore Amboseli National Park, one of Africa’s best destinations for close-up elephant sightings. The park is especially famous for its large herds of elephants that freely roam the plains and swamps, often seen feeding, playing, or bathing in the water channels. The park’s diverse habitats also support giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and numerous bird species, all set against the dramatic backdrop of Kilimanjaro.

Amboseli National Park to Nairobi

Your final day at Amboseli National Park begins with an early morning game drive from Kibo Safari Camp, when the park is at its most beautiful and wildlife is most active. As the sun rises over the plains, you may witness large herds of elephants moving gracefully across the open landscape, often with the stunning backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is also a great time to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species as they begin their day.

After the game drive, you will return to Kibo Safari Camp for a hearty breakfast and some time to relax, pack, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings one last time. Depending on your schedule, you may take a short stroll within the camp or simply unwind as you reflect on your safari experience.

Later, you will check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi or your next destination. Along the way, you can enjoy the scenic views of the countryside.
