Day 1

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

On your arrival at Entebbe airport, you will have a scheduled flight to Kisoro airstrip from where you will access Mgahinga gorilla national park and check in at mount Gahinga lodge for breakfast and refreshments.

Batwa trail
Following lunch at the lodge, you will go for the Batwa experience. The Batwa trail is one of the most fascinating tour activities you will encounter on a Mgahinga tour safari. The trail leads from the base of Muhuvura cave and the walk is a living museum where you will learn about the indigenous Batwa pygmies the hunter gatherers and warriors who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine. Here the Batwa guides will lead you through the lower slopes of the forests introducing you to their old home and demonstrating the skills they used to survive and the trail will end with a subterranean performance of music and dance.

Day 2

Golden Monkey Tracking

Golden Monkey Tracking

Following breakfast early in the morning with packed lunch, you will head to Mgahinga offices and briefed before you start your trek through the bamboo forest in search of the amazing rare species of the striking orange coated golden monkeys using the Gahinga trail and this activity may take two to eight hours with one hour of their exhibition as they jump from one bamboo tree to another, play and eat.
Golden monkey tracking is one of the most amazing activities one can do while on a primate safari. These beautiful creatures have a number of colors on like black, grey and a beautiful shade of orange-gold that has them being called golden monkeys. They live in large groups of a hundred led by an alpha male and they stay in one location for some time which will give you abundance of time to encounter them and their amazing life style which that will give you a memorable experience. After this activity, you will go back to your lodge for dinner, refreshments and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Volcano Climbing

Following breakfast with packed lunch, you will be picked by our tour guide to Mgahinga headquarters for a brief meeting about guidelines in regards to volcano climbing whereafter you will head out for volcano in Mgahinga.
Volcano climbing in Mgahinga is an immensely rewarding activity with magnificent views on the way up and at the summit. This activity will take about six to seven hours ascending through the montane forest, bamboo stands and heather grooves before encountering bizarre forms of giant lobelias and groundsels at the summit to the three Virunga volcanoes of muhavura, the parks highest peak, mount Gahinga and Sabinyo. This hike provides a rare privilege of viewing the three countries of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo at once therefore the ascent justifies the effort creating a memorable lifetime experience.

In the morning, you will go for Mgahinga platform viewing experience. With the viewing platform, 800 metres uphill from the Ntebeko visitor centre, you will be able to have splendid views of the park as well as its surrounding. This viewing platform unlocks the hidden treasures and sensation of the entire universe as you arrive. In addition, this viewing platform experience will give you a glimpse of what Mgahinga as a national park holds as a treasured and protected national park in the country which will give you a lifetime experience. After this activity, you will go back to the lodge for lunch, check out and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Check in at Ichumbi Lodge.

Following breakfast with packed lunch, you will be picked by our tour guide to Bwindi headquarters for a brief meeting about guidelines in regards to tracking thereafter you will head out for mountain gorilla tracking in Bwindi.
Bwindi impenetrable forest has 17 gorilla groups making it the best place where you can see the gorillas in the wild. The magical hour with these gorillas gives an unforgettable life experience. These gorillas can be tracked from the trailheads at Buhoma in north west Bwindi, Ruhija, Nkuringo and Rushaga and see their organization, feeding and lifestyle. You will then go back to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The following day, you will go for the habituation experience in the impenetrable forest. Gorilla habituation experience is one of the most amazing activities in Bwindi impenetrable national park. With this activity, you will trek into the forest alongside park rangers blazing into the wilder sides of the forest in search of gorilla families. You will have four magical hours with these highly intelligent and emotional animals once they located and it’s an incredibly humbling experience.
