Stone Town History & Spice Farm Experience

After breakfast, begin your guided tour of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its mix of African, Arab, Indian, and European influences.

During your walking tour, you will visit important landmarks such as the House of Wonders, once the grandest building in East Africa, the historic Sultan’s Palace, and the lively waterfront at Forodhani Gardens, famous for its evening food market.

Your guide will share stories about Zanzibar’s spice trade, sultans, and its important role in East African history. Later, you will visit a local spice farm in the countryside. Zanzibar is often called the “Spice Island,” and here you will see, smell, and taste fresh spices such as cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and black pepper. You will also sample tropical fruits straight from the trees.

This experience is both educational and fun, giving you a deeper connection to the island’s culture. Return to your hotel in the afternoon to relax.

Safari Blue – Ocean Adventure & Transfer to Nungwi

After breakfast, prepare for one of the highlights of your trip, a full-day marine adventure with Safari Blue. You will sail in a traditional wooden dhow boat across crystal-clear waters.

The day includes snorkeling over colorful coral reefs where you may see tropical fish, swimming in warm turquoise lagoons, and relaxing on a beautiful white sandbank surrounded by the Indian Ocean.

A freshly prepared seafood lunch with grilled fish, lobster (seasonal), rice, and tropical fruits will be served on a shaded island spot.
In the late afternoon, you will transfer to Nungwi, located on the northern tip of the island. This area is famous for its stunning beaches and spectacular sunsets.

Check in at Opera Hotel and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Turtle sanctuary and beach relaxation on northern Zanzibar coast

After breakfast, visit the local marine aquarium and turtle sanctuary in Nungwi. Here you will learn about conservation efforts aimed at protecting endangered sea turtles.

You may have the opportunity to observe them up close and understand how the local community supports marine life preservation.

After the visit, enjoy free time on Nungwi’s beautiful beaches. The northern beaches are known for their soft white sand and calm waters, perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

In the evening, don’t miss the breathtaking sunset as the sky turns shades of orange and pink over the ocean — a truly magical experience.

Prison Island & Nakupenda Sandbank – Return to Stone Town

After breakfast, transfer back toward Stone Town for a boat trip to Prison Island (also known as Changuu Island). The island was once used as a detention center and later became home to giant Aldabra tortoises, some of which are over 100 years old. You will have time to explore the island and take photos.

From there, continue to the stunning Nakupenda Beach, a beautiful sandbank that appears in the middle of the ocean. Here you can swim, relax, sunbathe, and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch prepared on-site. The clear water and soft white sand create the perfect tropical setting.

In the late afternoon, return to Stone Town and check in at Tembo House Hotel. Spend your final evening at leisure — perhaps shopping for souvenirs or enjoying a sunset walk.
