Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
Depart early in the morning for Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the few remaining places on Earth where wildlife still thrives in large, relatively undisturbed numbers, much like it once did across Africa’s plains and forests. As the northern extension of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is famous for the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their accompanying predators. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Day 2
Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife, and it is one of the few places where the Big Five can often be spotted during a single morning drive. Cheetahs here are notably relaxed, sometimes resting in the shade beneath safari vehicles or even climbing onto the roof for a better view of prey. For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four species of bustards—including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird—and nine species of sunbirds.

This alkaline lake also serves as a rhino sanctuary, home to over 40 black rhinos and more than 60 white rhinos. The flamingos remain the main attraction, sometimes numbering close to two million and forming a striking pink band along the lake’s shoreline. Day 4
Lake Naivasha
Lake Naivasha
Enjoy an early morning drive to Lake Naivasha, the highest and one of the most beautiful lakes in the Rift Valley. Situated at 1,910 meters (6,200 feet), its fresh waters are bordered by dense papyrus reeds—once used by ancient Egyptians to make paper. These reeds provide a perfect habitat for birdlife, with kingfishers perched along the edges and herons hunting quietly within. With over 400 recorded species, Naivasha is a haven for bird watchers. It is also a popular weekend retreat for Nairobi residents, offering activities such as sailing, water skiing, and fishing. Due to its altitude, the water is too cold for crocodiles, though hippos are commonly seen. Along the lakeshore, vineyards contribute to the country’s growing wine industry. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha.

In the southern region, you’ll find a series of small, rocky volcanic hills.
