Day 1
Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
You will depart early in the morning for Masai Mara National Reserve. It remains one of the few places on Earth where wildlife still thrives in vast, undisturbed numbers, much like the ancient plains of Africa. As the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is home to the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their accompanying predators. You will arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your chosen campsite or lodge.

Day 2-3
Masai Mara National Park
Masai Mara National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife. It is also one of the few places where the Big Five can be seen in a single morning game drive. Cheetahs are often remarkably relaxed and may rest in the shade of vehicles, with some even climbing onto rooftops for a better vantage point when hunting. For bird enthusiasts, nearly 500 species have been recorded, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, and 4 species of bustards, including the Kori bustard—the world’s heaviest flying bird—alongside 9 species of sunbirds.
Dinner and overnight stay will be at your campsite or lodge.

Masai Mara to Serengeti
You will start with an early morning game drive in Masai Mara before exiting the reserve and completing border formalities en route to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. On the way, you may optionally visit Olduvai Gorge, where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey made important discoveries about early human origins, including a short lecture and museum visit. Although it is a long driving day, the wildlife viewing while entering and leaving the parks can be surprisingly rewarding. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your campsite or lodge.

Day 5-6
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
You will enjoy two full days in the Serengeti with a flexible schedule and unlimited mileage. As you crest the hillside, the vast Serengeti unfolds before you—“endless plains” in Kiswahili. Covering about 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), the park is home to more than 2 million large animals, including over a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to this rich ecosystem, while smaller wildlife including rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also thrive here, along with nearly 500 bird species. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive en route to your campsite. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a public campsite or private tented camp/lodge.

Day 7
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro
On this day, we recommend an early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park to catch the wildlife at its most active and witness one of Africa’s most spectacular sunrises. After the drive, return to camp for a rewarding brunch before continuing your journey to Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the Natural World. Spanning about 102 sq miles with 2,000 ft-high walls, the crater acts as a natural enclosure for an extraordinary density of wildlife, including most species native to East Africa and the rare black rhino. Its diverse habitats include rivers, swamps, a soda lake rich in flamingos, forest, and open grasslands, and it is also known for its impressive elephant population with large tusks. You will arrive in time for a sundowner, with an option to upgrade your accommodation level.
