Day 1

Your safari begins with a morning pick-up from Nairobi hotel or place of residence by our professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, depart for Meru National Park, one of Kenya’s most beautiful and less-crowded safari destinations.

The drive takes you through the scenic Central Highlands, passing pineapple plantations, lush farmlands, market towns, and views of the Mount Kenya region. Arrive at Ikweta Safari Camp in time for check-in and lunch.

After some relaxation, head out for your first afternoon game drive in Meru National Park. The park is known for its wild, untouched beauty, with open grasslands, doum palms, riverine forests, and scenic streams. Look out for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, lions, and rich birdlife.

Return to Ikweta Safari Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Full Day At Meru National Park

Full Day At Meru National Park

After breakfast, depart for a full day of exploration in Meru National Park. The park offers a peaceful and rewarding safari experience, with fewer crowds and beautiful landscapes that feel raw and authentic.

Spend the day enjoying game drives across the park’s diverse habitats, from open plains and acacia woodland to riverine forest and wetlands. Wildlife sightings may include elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, hartebeests, warthogs, lions, cheetahs, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.

You may also visit areas connected to the famous conservation story of Elsa the Lioness, made known through Born Free, adding a meaningful historical touch to your safari experience.

Enjoy lunch at the camp or as part of your safari plan, then continue with an afternoon game drive as wildlife becomes more active toward the cooler hours.

Return to Ikweta Safari Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out from Ikweta Safari Camp and begin your journey toward Samburu National Reserve, located in Kenya’s rugged northern region. The drive offers a beautiful change of scenery as you leave Meru’s lush wilderness and move toward Samburu’s dry, dramatic landscapes.

Arrive at Simba Lodge Samburu in time for check-in and lunch. Set near the Ewaso Nyiro River, the lodge offers a peaceful setting and beautiful views of the surrounding wilderness.

In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in Samburu National Reserve. Samburu is famous for its unique wildlife, including the Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and beisa oryx. You may also spot elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, antelopes, and abundant birdlife.

Return to Simba Lodge Samburu for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve, when wildlife is most active. Your guide will take you through the reserve’s riverine areas, dry plains, acacia scrub, and rocky landscapes in search of the Samburu Special Five and other wildlife.

Samburu offers excellent sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, antelopes, crocodiles, and many bird species. The reserve’s dramatic scenery and northern Kenya atmosphere make it one of the most memorable safari destinations in the country.

Return to Simba Lodge for lunch and some relaxation. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive as animals gather near the river and the light becomes ideal for photography.

You may also choose an optional Samburu village cultural visit to learn about the traditions, lifestyle, dances, beadwork, and customs of the Samburu people.

Return to Simba Lodge Samburu for dinner and overnight stay.

Wake up to a relaxed morning in Samburu and enjoy breakfast at the lodge. After check-out, begin your scenic drive back to Nairobi, passing through the changing landscapes of northern Kenya, the Mount Kenya region, and the Central Highlands.

Enjoy the views along the way, with optional stops for refreshments or souvenirs depending on your schedule.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO). This marks the end of your enriching 5-day safari.
