Central Serengeti is the heart of the famous Serengeti National Park in northern Tanzania. It is one of the best wildlife viewing areas in Africa, known for its wide open plains, rocky outcrops called “kopjes,” and high concentration of animals throughout the year.
This area is especially famous for its rich predator population. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas are commonly seen here, along with large herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, and gazelles. Because of its permanent water sources and abundant grasslands, wildlife stays in Central Serengeti year-round, making it one of the most reliable safari regions for game viewing.

The region is dominated by rolling savannahs, rocky hills, and river valleys, with the most important feature being the Mara River. Every year, millions of wildebeest and zebras move through this area in search of fresh grazing, often crossing the river where crocodiles lie in wait. These crossings are one of the most famous wildlife spectacles in the world.
Northern Serengeti is also home to a wide variety of wildlife throughout the year, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and numerous bird species. Compared to the central areas, it is quieter and less crowded, offering a more exclusive safari experience.

Ngorongoro game drive
Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most famous and spectacular natural wonders in Africa, located within the larger Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It was formed millions of years ago when a massive volcano collapsed, creating the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
The crater is about 19 kilometers wide and has steep walls rising over 600 meters high, forming a natural enclosure for wildlife. Inside the crater lies a unique ecosystem with grasslands, forests, lakes, and swamps that support an incredible concentration of animals.
It is one of the best places in Tanzania to see the “Big Five” — lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the rare black rhinoceros. Other animals commonly found here include zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, flamingos, and hippos.
Unlike many other parks, animals in the crater stay within its walls year-round because of the permanent water sources and rich grazing land. This makes wildlife viewing very reliable and rewarding in a short time.

Lake Manyara National Park is a beautiful and compact protected area located in northern Tanzania, along the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. It is famous for its scenic landscapes, diverse habitats, and rich birdlife.
The park is named after the shallow alkaline lake, Lake Manyara, which occupies a large portion of the park. During certain seasons, the lake attracts thousands of flamingos and other water birds, creating a stunning pink shoreline.
Lake Manyara National Park is also known for its varied ecosystems, including groundwater forests, open grasslands, swamps, and acacia woodlands. This diversity supports a wide range of wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, buffaloes, and baboons.
