Arrival at Chiefs Island- Camp Hippo

Guests will be picked up from Maun Airport by our guide, Fred, who will assist with your luggage and escort you to the
transfer vehicle.
Transport from Maun Airport to Borro Boat Station in the Okavango Delta with our Game Viewer. Board our motorized boat and begin your journey to Chief’s Island, where you will arrive at Camp Hippo for the first night of your stay.

Following The Hidden Channels

Wake up to the sounds of the bush and set out early on a morning boat safari. Explore deeper channels and lagoons where large pods of hippos are often found. Your guide will navigate quietly, allowing for close yet respectful encounters. Return to camp for brunch and rest during the heat of the day.
In the afternoon, head out again to explore new waterways, tracking wildlife along the edges of Chief’s Island one of the richest wildlife areas in the Delta. Sunset over the water offers a magical end to the day.

Full Day Adventure & Island Exploration

After breakfast, embark on a longer boat excursion combining water exploration with a guided island walk (water levels permitting). Step onto one of the islands near Chief’s Island and experience the Delta on foot tracking animals, learning about smaller details of the ecosystem, and possibly encountering elephants, antelope, or even big cats.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic spot before continuing your journey through winding channels. Return to camp in the late afternoon for a well-earned rest, dinner, and storytelling under the stars.

Chiefs Island Departure

On the final day, guests enjoy a leisurely breakfast before preparing for departure, departing by boat taking in the last views of this pristine wilderness. They will then be transferred to the airport, marking the end of their safari experience, filled with memories of wildlife encounters, cultural touches, and the peaceful beauty of Chiefs Island.
