The afternoon is spent settling into your private bush camp as it is carefully set up by our team. As the sun drops, the first game drive introduces you to Nxai’s quiet but powerful wildlife presence springbok, oryx, and the possibility of elephants moving through the pans in golden light.
Dinner is served under a sky unpolluted by anything but stars, with the distant calls of jackals setting the tone for the wilderness ahead.

A full day in the Nxai pans. Guests will start their morning with a light breakfast and continue on a walking safari. Returning to camp guests will prepare for a late morning game drive move slowly across the pan where mirages blur the horizon and wildlife appears almost out of nowhere. You may encounter large elephant herds at the waterholes, especially during dry periods, along with giraffe browsing on acacia stands and predators tracking silently across the open flats.
In the afternoon, the safari slows, focusing on photography, tracking, and simply absorbing the silence of the pans. The experience here is less about constant sightings and more about scale, light, and isolation.

After a sunrise drive and breakfast in camp, the mobile safari begins its transition northward toward the Okavango Delta fringe. This is a long but scenic travel day, shifting from open saltpans into more vegetated terrain. Wildlife sightings often occur along the route elephants crossing tracks, ostrich pairs moving through scrub, and occasional lion spoor marking the journey. You arrive in the late afternoon at your next mobile campsite closer to the waterways, where the air begins to feel heavier and more humid, signaling your approach to the Delta system.

Day 4
First Water Experience
First Water Experience
Guests will start their morning with a light breakfast and continue on a walking safari. Returning to camp guests will prepare for a late morning motorized boat safari, gliding through winding channels lined with papyrus and water lilies. Hippos surface nearby, and crocodiles bask along sandy banks. Birdlife is exceptional here African fish eagles, herons, kingfishers—creating a completely different rhythm from the dry pans.
The evening is spent at leisure with dinner and storytelling around the fire.

Guests begin the morning with a light breakfast before setting out on a slow, intimate safari experience. You step into traditional dugout canoes, known as mokoros, and glide silently through shallow waterways, propelled gently by your poler.
The mokoro journey is deeply meditative. Surrounded only by the soft sounds of water, reeds brushing against the canoe, and bird calls overhead. Your poler expertly navigates narrow channels that are inaccessible to motorboats, revealing a hidden world within the Delta.

The landscape transitions again the wetlands give way to mopane woodlands and seasonal floodplains. This area is known for high predator density, especially lion and wild dog movements. You arrive at a mobile camp positioned near game-rich corridors. The evening game drive is intense and rewarding, often producing multiple predator sightings within a short span.

The day begins with an early breakfast in camp before heading out for a deep dive into Mababe’s rich wildlife system. Morning game drives follow fresh tracks of lion prides as they move between water sources and hunting grounds. Elephant herds travel in large family groups through the woodlands, while buffalo dominate the open clearings. This region is widely regarded as one of the most active predator-prey ecosystems in northern Botswana.
Midday is spent relaxing back in camp, allowing time to rest and absorb the sounds of the wild. In the afternoon, you set out again for a game drive that often continues into the night, when nocturnal species such as hyena, civet, and possibly leopard become active under the cover of darkness.

The focus shifts from simple sightings to tracking, reading the land, and understanding predator behavior in depth. After a morning game drive, you pause for brunch in the bush or back at camp, allowing time to rest and reflect. Your guides then continue tracking lion movements or explore deeper into the less-travelled sections of Mababe, where vehicle density is almost zero.

On the final day, guests enjoy a leisurely breakfast before preparing for departure. They are transferred back to the airport, marking the end of their safari experience, filled with memories of wildlife encounters, cultural touches, and the peaceful beauty of Nxai Pans National Park, Kaziikini and Mababe Concession.
Guests will be dropped off at Maun Airport by our guide, Fred, who will assist with your luggage.
