Day 1

Nairobi - Masai Mara

Nairobi - Masai Mara

After breakfast at your Nairobi hotel, your professional guide picks you up for the scenic drive southwest toward the Maasai Mara. En route, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for sweeping photographs across one of Africa's most dramatic landscapes. Lunch is served at Narok Town before continuing into the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
On arrival, proceed for an afternoon game drive across the iconic savannah plains. The Maasai Mara holds one of Africa's highest concentrations of resident predators: lions, leopards, and cheetahs are encountered year-round. Return to Enchoro Wildlife Camp for dinner and overnight.

Masai Mara Full Day

Depart after breakfast with packed picnic lunch boxes for a full day of game viewing in the reserve. Between July and October, millions of wildebeest and zebra make the spectacular Great Migration crossing at the Mara River in search of fresh grazing, one of the most dramatic wildlife events on Earth. Your guide will position you at the best crossing points for photography.
Explore the open grasslands, Mara River zone, and riverine forest throughout the day. Lion prides, leopards resting in acacia trees, cheetahs sprinting across the open plains, massive elephant herds, and Cape buffalo are all regularly encountered. An optional dawn hot air balloon safari gives a magical aerial perspective over the Mara landscape. Return to camp for dinner.

Day 3

Masai Mara - Hell's Gate National Park

Masai Mara - Hell's Gate National Park

After an early breakfast and a final morning game drive in the Maasai Mara, depart northeast for Hell's Gate National Park near Lake Naivasha. The drive takes approximately 3 hours back through Narok and up the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment. Hell's Gate is one of Kenya's most unique parks: named after a narrow break in the cliffs carved by an ancient outlet of Lake Naivasha, with towering red rock gorges, geothermal steam vents, and dramatic volcanic landscapes.
Hell's Gate is one of the only parks in Kenya where you can explore on foot or by bicycle without a guide — cycling among giraffe, zebra, buffalo, Thomson's gazelle, and warthog is an unforgettable experience. In the afternoon, walk or cycle through the dramatic Fischer's Tower gorge and visit the geothermal hot springs at Ol Karia. Overnight at Sofa Camp Naivasha.

Hell's Gate-Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart Hell's Gate and drive north along the floor of the Great Rift Valley toward Nakuru town. The route passes the geothermal power station at Olkaria- one of Africa's largest, and through the rolling farmlands of Gilgil before arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park. Enter the park for a morning game drive through the acacia woodland and open grasslands.
Lake Nakuru National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of Kenya's most rewarding compact wildlife sanctuaries. The park is famous for its spectacular flamingo flocks that colour the alkaline lake shoreline pink, and as the only park in Kenya where both the endangered white rhino and rare black rhino coexist within a fenced sanctuary. Rothschild's giraffe, waterbuck, Cape buffalo, and lions on rocky outcrops are also regularly seen. An afternoon game drive completes the day.

As you approach Amboseli the landscape opens into the flat Kajiado plains and on a clear day the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro emerges dramatically on the horizon.

Rise before dawn for the best chance of clear Kilimanjaro views. Amboseli's iconic combination of large elephant herds crossing the swamp plains with Kilimanjaro rising behind produces some of the most celebrated wildlife photographs in the world. An early start is absolutely essential.
Spend the full day exploring the park with a packed picnic lunch. Amboseli's permanent swamps fed by Kilimanjaro's underground snowmelt attract enormous concentrations of elephant, buffalo, hippo, and over 400 bird species. Lion prides hunt the open plains, cheetah are regularly spotted, and wildebeest and zebra graze the open savannah throughout the day. Return to camp for a final campfire dinner under the stars with Kilimanjaro silhouetted on the horizon.
