After an early departure from Moshi, drive to the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro and begin your trek from Shira Gate. The trail crosses the expansive Shira Plateau, one of the highest plateaus in the world, offering breathtaking views of the mountain and surrounding plains. Day 2
Simba Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Simba Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Today's trek continues across the scenic Shira Plateau, passing through open moorland landscapes dotted with giant lobelias and senecio plants. As you gain elevation, the environment becomes increasingly dramatic and remote. Upon reaching Shira 2 Camp, take time to relax, enjoy the stunning sunset over the plateau, and prepare for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 3
Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp

This day follows the principle of "climb high, sleep low." Ascend steadily through alpine desert terrain to Lava Tower at approximately 4,600 meters. After lunch and acclimatization at this higher altitude, descend to Barranco Camp. The route offers spectacular views of glaciers, valleys, and rugged volcanic formations. Barranco Camp, located beneath the imposing Barranco Wall, is considered one of the most scenic camps on Kilimanjaro.

Day 4
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Begin the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall, a thrilling but non-technical scramble that rewards climbers with magnificent views. After reaching the top, continue along a series of ridges and valleys with panoramic vistas of the southern glaciers and summit cone. The trek to Karanga Camp is relatively short, allowing additional time for rest and acclimatization.

Day 5
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Leave Karanga Camp and ascend steadily toward Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit attempt. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you enter the high alpine desert zone. Upon arrival, enjoy an early dinner and receive a detailed briefing from your guides regarding the summit climb. Spend the remainder of the afternoon resting, organizing gear, and hydrating.
Day 6
Summit Day – Uhuru Peak and Descent
Summit Day – Uhuru Peak and Descent
Shortly after midnight, begin the challenging ascent toward the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Reach Stella Point at sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak. Celebrate your achievement and capture unforgettable photographs before beginning the long descent. After returning to Barafu Camp for a short rest, continue down to Mweka Gate, where you receive your summit certificate before transferring back to Moshi.
