Full Day in Amboseli National Park Morning: Embark on an early morning game drive. This is the prime time to photograph Amboseli's famous large elephant herds marching past the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Afternoon: Visit the Observation Hill for a panoramic view of the park's swamps packed with hippos and waterbirds. Follow up with an afternoon game drive. Overnight: Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

Amboseli to Lake Nakuru

Amboseli to Lake Nakuru via the Great Rift ValleyMorning: Depart Amboseli very early. This is the longest transit day of your safari (approx. 6.5 to 7.5 hours total driving). You will drive back towards Nairobi and descend down the breathtaking Great Rift Valley escarpment. Afternoon: Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, check into your lodge, and have a late lunch. Head out for a late-afternoon game drive around the lake. Overnight: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, which sits on a hill offering incredible elevated views over the park and the lake.

You can opt for full-day game drives with picnic lunch boxes to reach the Mara River, or split them into early morning and late afternoon drives. Wildlife: Look out for the famous African Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino), cheetahs, hyenas, and vast numbers of zebras and wildebeests.
