3-Day Maasai Mara Safari – Beyond the Big Five

Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Your safari starts with pickup from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel. Travel towards the Maasai Mara through the Kenyan countryside and enjoy the changing views along the way. Stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos and a short break before continuing to the Mara. Arrive at Mara Sweet Acacia Lodge in time for lunch and check-in.

After lunch, head out for your first afternoon game drive. Explore the open plains with your guide and look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, giraffes and zebras. Enjoy watching wildlife in its natural home, take photos and learn about the animals from your guide. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and your first night in the Mara.

Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

Wake up to the sounds of the African bush and get ready for a day full of adventure. You may choose to start your morning with an optional hot air balloon safari at your own cost. Float above the Maasai Mara as the sun rises, enjoy wide views of the plains and watch wildlife moving below. Alternatively, leave the lodge after breakfast with a packed lunch for a full-day game drive. Explore the Mara with your guide and search for the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards and rhinos.

Your guide will take you to areas where you have a better chance of seeing wildlife and taking photos. During the Great Migration season, you may visit the Mara River witness thousands of wildebeest crossing the river. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary Maasai village visit when you book with us. Meet local people see their homes learn about their daily life and enjoy traditional songs and dances. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Maasai Mara – Nairobi

After breakfast, check out of Mara Sweet Acacia Lodge and leave the Maasai Mara for Nairobi. Enjoy the changing views of the Kenyan countryside as you travel towards Lake Naivasha. When you arrive, enjoy a complimentary boat ride included when you book with us. Cruise across the calm waters, look out for hippos, waterbirds and other wildlife, and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful lake views.

Alternatively, you may choose an optional guided nature walk at (own cost), where you can walk among free-roaming animals, learn about the plants and wildlife from your guide, and enjoy nature at a slower pace. Continue your journey to Nairobi, arriving in the evening for your final drop-off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
