After breakfast, you will leave Antsirabe for a varied drive to Ranomafana along the famous RN7. After a few hours, make a stop in Ambositra, the city of Malagasy artisans.
Here, you can watch the Zafimaniry at work, an ethnic group renowned for their refined wood carving and marquetry art passed down for centuries. Stroll through the small streets, admire the workshops, and enjoy a tasty lunch at your own expense before continuing your journey.
The road then winds through green hills and villages. Including the stop, today's scenic route takes about 8 hours. After this extraordinary wilderness experience, you will leave the park and return to Ranohira. A delicious lunch and dinner are also included today, so you do not have to worry about a thing! You have the entire afternoon to relax at Isalo Ranch. Take this time to unwind in nature, lounge by the pool, and recover from the incredible journey you have experienced so far.

After breakfast, hop back into your 4x4 and continue your adventure south towards Tulear.
It is a scenic drive of about 7 hours where the landscape constantly changes. Along the RN7, spot your first iconic baobab trees and pass the unique Mahafaly tombs, colourfully decorated with paintings depicting the lives of the deceased. You can even choose to stop in the sapphire town of Ilakaka or visit the beautiful botanical garden in Tulear, showcasing the unique flora of southern Madagascar.
From Tulear, it is just a short half-hour drive to Ifaty. After a day full of extraordinary views, the Indian Ocean finally appears, palm trees, white sand, and an azure sea!

Sometimes it gets extra exciting when the sea almost swallows the path—a true adventure in itself! After a few hours of bouncing in your 4x4, you will arrive in Morondava, a vibrant coastal town that feels like the beating heart of the west coast.
Here you will find colourful markets, fishermen bringing in their catch, and wide beaches with unforgettable sunsets. Morondava is also the perfect base for a visit to the famous Avenue of the Baobabs! You will spend the night at Renala Au Sable d'Or, an eco-lodge where you can sleep in an atmospheric bungalow right on the tropical beach and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.
