Day 1

Pick Up and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our Usoke Explorer driver-guide. You will then depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park 6–7 hours. The scenic road trip takes you through African villages, green covered hills, tea plantations, banana plantations, and traditional homesteads. You will stop for lunch en route. Arrive at the lodge late in the evening. If time allows, you may do a short evening game drive. Check into your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Morning – Chimpanzee Trekking: Have an early morning breakfast, then go for a morning chimpanzee trek in Kalinzu Forest. You will be briefed about the dos and don't s of chimpanzee trekking, then embark on the forest hike 1–3 hours. You will have a chance to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat, along with other primates and birds. Afternoon – Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise: In the afternoon, enjoy a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This 36km waterway connects Lakes George and Edward. You will see hundreds of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and buffalo at the water's edge and a number of bird species, including the rare shoebill stork. Return to your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tree-Climbing Lions in Ishasha and Transfer to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, transfer through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park on the way to Bwindi. This area is famous for its tree-climbing lions. Drive through this adventurous, vast savannah area – home to topis and African elephants. You will hopefully spot lions high in the fig tree branches (approximately 70% chance). Have lunch in Ishasha. Continue with the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Experience a change in landscape – from flat savannah, via cultivated hills, to jungle-covered mountains. Check into your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Morning – Gorilla Trekking: Have an early morning breakfast and proceed to the briefing point. Enjoy the highlight of your trip – gorilla trekking 2–6 hours depending on the gorilla group's location. Trek through the rainforest and bamboo-covered slopes, accompanied by a Uganda Wildlife Authority guide and trackers. The walking can sometimes be tough and long, but when you catch a glimpse of the magnificent silverback, any discomforts will be quickly forgotten. You will spend one unforgettable hour with the gorilla family. Observe the silverback, mothers with infants, and juveniles playing. The eye-to-eye connection is profound and life-changing. Due to the nature of the activity, you will carry a packed lunch. Afternoon: After gorilla trekking, drive through the terraced hills to Lake Mburo National Park 4–5 hours. Check into your prepared lodge for dinner and overnight.

Early Morning Game Drive in Lake Mburo – Transfer to Entebbe

Morning – Game Drive, After an early breakfast, go for a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. This park is famous for zebras (large dazzles), impalas and giraffes, elands and Cape buffalo, many tropical bird species. Check out of the park and transfer to Entebbe 4–5 hours. Stop for lunch en route. Equator Stopover, Along the way, make a stopover at the Equator line in Kayabwe. Stand with one foot in each hemisphere, watch the water swirl experiment, and take photos. Continue to Kampala or Entebbe. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel.
