Arrival in Kigali

Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, you'll discover why Kigali is regarded as one of Africa's cleanest, safest, and most progressive cities. Your guided city tour begins with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, where you'll gain a deeper understanding of Rwanda's history, resilience, and remarkable transformation. You may also visit local craft centres, artisan shops, or vibrant markets, offering an opportunity to interact with local culture and purchase beautifully handcrafted souvenirs. Following lunch, depart Kigali and journey through Rwanda's picturesque countryside, where rolling green hills, neatly terraced farms, and welcoming rural communities create spectacular scenery throughout the drive. After completing immigration formalities at either the Cyanika or Katuna border, continue into southwestern Uganda and the lush landscapes surrounding Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today promises the highlight of your safari. Following an early breakfast, your guide will transfer you to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing from experienced ranger guides. After being allocated a habituated gorilla family, you'll venture into the ancient rainforest, where every trek is unique. Depending on the gorillas' movements, the hike may take anywhere from two to six hours, passing through dense vegetation, bamboo stands, and steep forested slopes while your guides interpret the remarkable ecosystem around you. The reward comes when you finally encounter a mountain gorilla family in its natural habitat. You'll spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent primates as they feed, groom, play, and care for their young, an experience that is both humbling and deeply memorable.

Return to Kigali & Departure

After breakfast, bid farewell to Bwindi and begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, retracing your route through the beautiful highlands of southwestern Uganda and Rwanda's iconic "Land of a Thousand Hills." Along the way, you'll enjoy sweeping views of terraced farmland, volcanic peaks, and vibrant local communities, with opportunities to stop briefly for photographs, refreshments, or souvenir shopping if time allows. After completing border formalities, continue to Kigali, where your guide will transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your onward flight. If your departure schedule permits, additional sightseeing or lunch in Kigali can be arranged before your airport transfer.
