Day 1

Welcome to Victoria Falls

Welcome to Victoria Falls

Your safari begins with your arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, where you'll be met by your guide and transferred to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Spend the afternoon exploring the spectacular Victoria Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya – "The Smoke That Thunders". Wander the rainforest pathways, admire the breathtaking viewpoints and experience the power of the world's largest curtain of falling water.

In the late afternoon, depart Victoria Falls at approximately 5:30 pm, crossing the Zimbabwe–Botswana border before arriving at Chobe House around 7:00 pm. There may be a short turn around time at the Falls, depending on your flight arrival time. Settle into your riverside chalet or, for larger groups, our exclusive private villa before enjoying a delicious welcome dinner. Chalet guests dine aboard our unique floating restaurant, while villa guests enjoy a private dinner served on their riverside terrace. Rest well - tomorrow your Chobe safari begins.

Explore Chobe National Park

This morning, head into Chobe National Park on an early game drive, when the cooler temperatures offer excellent opportunities to encounter predators returning from the night's hunt, along with elephants, buffalo, giraffe and a wealth of other wildlife. Return to Chobe House for brunch or lunch before enjoying a relaxing afternoon.

Later, board one of our boats for a sunset cruise on the Chobe River, where the changing afternoon light transforms the landscape as wildlife gathers along the riverbanks to drink and cool off. Large elephant herds, hippos, crocodiles and an incredible variety of birdlife make this one of Africa's finest boat safari experiences.

We deliberately swap the activity times from the previous day, allowing you to experience both options during the morning and afternoon. Each offers a completely different atmosphere, lighting and wildlife behaviour, ensuring you enjoy the very best of Chobe from both land and water before your safari comes to an end.
