Kigali to Nyungwe National Park

Pick-up from your hotel in Kigali in the early afternoon, then settle in for the scenic drive south via Huye, Rwanda's cultural and educational hub, winding through rolling hills and tea plantations as the terrain rises toward the rainforest. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours, ending at the edge of Nyungwe National Park in the late afternoon or early evening. Check in, enjoy dinner, and rest up for an early start the next morning.

Chimpanzee Trekking & Return to Kigali

Very early breakfast, then a briefing at the park office before meeting your ranger guide at the trailhead. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 7 hours through the forest, with up to one hour observing the chimpanzees once located. After a
packed lunch, drive back to Kigali (about 4 to 5 hours), arriving in the evening.
