Arusha

Welcome to Tanzania!
Your Taswira Africa guide will be waiting for you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. We will then drive to your accommodation in Arusha (approximately a 1.5 hours drive, depending on traffic and time of arrival.) We will leave you to relax in the hotel for remainder of the day.

Day 2
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park
We will depart Arusha in the morning and head directly to Tarangire National Park, named after the river that runs through it which quenches the thirst of a variety of animals, including giraffes, waterbucks, wildebeests, zebras and a high density of elephants. Tarangire is home to over 550 species of birds and its hilly landscape is dotted with baobabs and diverse grasses. After a morning game drive, you will enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the river, before continuing wildlife viewing until leaving the park in the late afternoon.

Day 3
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast we will head to Lake Manyara, an alkaline lake, rich with plant and bird life. The lake’s environment supports over 300 species of birds including cormorants, pink flamingos, pelicans and storks. After a picnic lunch, we will enjoy an afternoon game drive where you can see elephants and baboons (in fact Lake Manyara boasts the most baboons in any park in Africa!) If you are lucky you will also see the famous tree-climbing lions.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast we will drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s safari highlights. The name Ngorongoro is from a Maasai word meaning ‘Gift of Life’.
You will begin with taking in the magnificent views from the crater rim before descending into the crater itself. You will have the opportunity to see elephants, lions, buffalo, zebra and many other species of animals and birds. We will enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the hippo pool.
The Ngorongoro Crater is beautiful at any time of year and teaming with wildlife. You may experience clear views of the crater bowl or mists rolling down into the base - either way a memorable experience.

Day 5
Transit to Serengeti National Park
Transit to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will start our journey to the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti National Park, home to the ‘big five’; rhinoceros, elephant, leopard, buffalo and lion, is one of the greatest national parks in the world, spanning over 14,000 km². The name Serengeti comes from a Maasai word meaning ‘endless plains’. Although populations fluctuate, there are an estimated 3 million large game animals in the Serengeti, including over 2,500 lions, 1.2 million wildebeest and over 200,000 zebras. Enjoy a picnic or camp lunch before continuing for an afternoon game drive through the vast plains.

Day 6
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
Beginning the day with an early game drive, you will experience the Serengeti as the sun rises and wildlife awakens in the golden morning. This is one of the best times for wildlife viewing. You would either take breakfast box or you will return to your lodge / camp for a late breakfast and rest, before setting out into the vast Serengeti plains for the rest of the day.
We will enjoy a picnic lunch during the day and return to our camp early evening.
Your guide will speak to you to plan your day after researching where the good location for animals will be.

Day 7-9
Flight to Zanzibar
Flight to Zanzibar
Today you will be transferred to Seronera airstrip to take your flight to Stone Town, Zanzibar, where you will be transferred to your accommodation in the old part of town. The Zanzibar Archipelago is off the mainland of Tanzania and comprised of several small islands and two large ones; Pemba and Unguja (commonly referred to as Zanzibar and in this itinerary). Zanzibar is rich in history; from ancient Persian to the sultans of Oman, the influences are diverse and distinct.
You have a free days in the Beach to partake in a variety of activities, such as yoga, kayaking, cycling, snorkelling, boat trips or simply relax by the pool or on the beach.

Day 10
Transfer to the Airport or Ferry
Transfer to the Airport or Ferry
After breakfast and a bit of relaxation at the hotel in Zanzibar, you will be transferred straight to the airport or ferry. This will mark the end of your epic adventure.
