Your adventure begins when your Tapestry safari guide welcomes you at your Nairobi hotel or the airport for the scenic journey north to Samburu National Reserve. Arrive in time for lunch and a chance to relax before heading out on your first afternoon game drive through Samburu's rugged landscapes, open savannah, and wildlife-rich areas along the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Over the next two days, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives searching for elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, and Samburu's unique northern species, including Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx. Between game drives, enjoy time at your lodge or choose an optional Samburu village visit to learn about the traditions and culture of the Samburu people.

After breakfast, leave Samburu and travel south toward Ol Pejeta Conservancy, arriving around lunchtime with time to settle into your lodge before beginning your exploration. Set against the beautiful landscapes of Laikipia, Ol Pejeta is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, antelope, and one of East Africa's most important populations of black and white rhinos.
During your stay, visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which provides lifelong refuge for rescued chimpanzees, and discover Ol Pejeta's internationally recognized rhino conservation programs. Meet Baraka, the conservancy's beloved blind black rhino, and visit Najin and Fatu, the world's last two northern white rhinos, while learning about the extraordinary efforts underway to save this species from extinction.

Continue into Kenya's spectacular Great Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru National Park, with an optional stop at beautiful Thomson's Falls along the way. Arrive at your lodge for lunch and enjoy views across the lake before an afternoon game drive in search of black and white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, buffalo, zebras, lions, and abundant birdlife.
The following morning, drive to nearby Lake Naivasha for a scenic boat safari, cruising among hippos while watching fish eagles, pelicans, and other waterbirds, with wildlife often visible along the shoreline. Return to your Lake Nakuru lodge for lunch and time to relax, followed by another afternoon game drive through the park.

Morning and afternoon game drives offer outstanding opportunities to find lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, and countless antelope species. Visit a hippo pool along the river, watch for seasonal Great Migration activity, and choose an optional Maasai village visit to meet members of the local community and learn about the traditions and culture of the Maasai people.

Set out on one of the longer travel days of your safari as you leave the Maasai Mara and journey through rural landscapes, small towns, farms, and villages toward Tanzania. After completing the border crossing and stopping for lunch, continue toward magnificent Serengeti National Park. Arrive at the park in the afternoon and begin game viewing almost immediately, enjoying a game drive as you make your way across the plains toward your lodge or camp for dinner.
The following two days are dedicated to exploring the legendary Serengeti, with game drives across vast grasslands, rocky kopjes, river valleys, and acacia-dotted plains. Search for lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, and countless other species while having the time to stop and watch wildlife behavior unfold rather than simply moving from one sighting to the next.

Leave the Serengeti behind and travel toward the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa's most extraordinary natural wonders. Descend into the enormous volcanic caldera around midday and enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before beginning your afternoon game drive. Later, ascend from the crater and make your way to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening surrounded by the beautiful highland scenery.
Return the following morning for a full day of game viewing inside the crater, exploring its grasslands, forests, wetlands, and lakes in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, wildebeest, zebras, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino. Enjoy another picnic lunch in this spectacular setting before returning to your lodge in the late afternoon with time to unwind and enjoy the surroundings.

Travel a few hours toward Tarangire National Park, stopping along the way at colorful Mto wa Mbu village to sample the area's famous red bananas and experience a glimpse of everyday Tanzanian life. Continue to your safari lodge for lunch and some time to settle in before heading out to discover Tarangire's distinctive landscape of open savannah, river valleys, and enormous ancient baobab trees.
Over the next two days, enjoy game drives through a park particularly famous for its large elephant herds and remarkable concentration of wildlife. The Tarangire River draws animals from throughout the surrounding ecosystem, providing opportunities to see giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, antelope, and an exceptional variety of birdlife against one of Tanzania's most memorable safari landscapes.
