After checking in for your domestic flight, take to the skies for a scenic journey toward southwestern Uganda. From the air, you can appreciate the country’s patchwork of farmland, hills, lakes and increasingly mountainous terrain as you approach the Bwindi region.
Your arrival airstrip depends on the sector where your gorilla trekking permit and accommodation are booked. Common fly-in arrangements may use Kihihi Airstrip for northern Bwindi or Kisoro Airstrip for trekking areas farther south.

After an early breakfast, your private guide transfers you to the appropriate park briefing point. Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers explain trekking procedures, gorilla etiquette and essential safety guidelines before assigning visitors to habituated gorilla groups.
You then enter the forest accompanied by professional trackers and guides.
