Your safari begins with a morning departure from Arusha toward Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic wildlife destinations. As you enter the park, enjoy your first game drive through landscapes of ancient baobabs, acacia woodland and open grassland.

Tarangire is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, but you may also encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, impalas and numerous bird species. During the dry season, wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River, creating excellent opportunities for photography and observation.

After a picnic lunch, continue exploring different areas of the park with your safari guide. Keep watch for lions and other predators that may be following the abundant herbivores.

Later on, you'll leave the park and drive toward your comfortable accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for the exciting crater and Ndutu safari adventures ahead.

Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by dramatic volcanic scenery before ascending the crater and continuing toward the Southern Serengeti.

As you approach the Ndutu area, the landscape changes into vast grasslands that become especially important during the calving season. The calving plains can provide incredible opportunities to watch wildebeest mothers with newborn calves, large herds moving across the landscape and predators carefully observing the herds.

Depending on recent wildlife movements, your guide may explore different parts of Ndutu, including seasonal lakes, open plains and woodland areas. A packed picnic lunch allows you to remain in the wilderness throughout the day without returning to camp.
