Fly from Zanzibar to Ruaha

After a scenic morning flight from Zanzibar to Ruaha National Park, you will arrive in the heart of Tanzania’s remote and spectacular wilderness. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide and provide a brief introduction to the day ahead. From the airstrip, your safari adventure begins immediately as you set off on your first game drive through Ruaha National Park, one of Tanzania’s most remarkable and less-crowded wildlife destinations.

Around midday, you will pause at a designated picnic area for a relaxing outdoor lunch surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. In the afternoon, you will continue your game drive through different areas of the park, keeping an eye out for further wildlife encounters.

As evening approaches, you will leave the park and drive back to Ruaha Hilltop Lodge, where you can relax and unwind after an exciting day in the wilderness.

Exploring Ruaha National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive in Ruaha National Park. Renowned as one of Tanzania’s most spectacular wilderness areas, Ruaha offers a breathtaking landscape that enhances the game-viewing experience. The park is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, including large populations of elephants, greater and lesser kudus, cheetahs, leopards, lions, roan antelopes, and sable antelopes.

Later in the evening, drive back to the lodge for leisure, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge.

Ruaha National Park to Zanzibar

After a leisurely breakfast, you will set off on a final en-route game drive as you make your way towards the airstrip. This last safari experience offers a wonderful opportunity to soak in the beauty of the wilderness one final time and perhaps encounter some of the park’s wildlife before your departure.

The drive also provides a final chance to appreciate the vast landscapes, golden grasslands, dramatic views, and peaceful atmosphere of the African wilderness. Take in the sights and sounds of the bush as you gradually make your way towards the airstrip, with time for any last photographs and memorable wildlife sightings.

Upon arrival at the airstrip, you will say farewell to your safari guide and board your scheduled flight to Zanzibar.
