Dar es salaam to Nyerere National Park

Your safari starts with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam. You will drive for approximately 5 +hours to Nyerere National Park, passing through local villages and beautiful countryside.

Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or camp and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy an exciting boat safari on the Rufiji River. You may see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species along the riverbanks. As the sun sets, you will enjoy beautiful views of the African wilderness.

After the boat safari, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Full Game Drive in Nyerere National park

You will start the day with an early morning game drive in Nyerere National Park. This is a great opportunity to see wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and, with some luck, leopards.

Your professional guide will share information about the park, its wildlife, and the surrounding ecosystem. After the game drive, you will return to your lodge for breakfast and some time to relax.

Later, you will enjoy a guided walking safari with an armed wildlife ranger and a walking safari guide. This gives you a closer look at the smaller details of the African bush and its natural environment.

After the walking safari, you will return to your lodge for lunch and get time to relax. In the evening you will have your dinner and overnight.

Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park

After breakfast, you will depart from Nyerere National Park with a packed lunch and drive towards Mikumi National Park.

You will pass through Matambwe Gate and continue along the rough road through areas such as Kisaki and Mkuyuni, with beautiful views of the countryside and the Uluguru Mountains before reaching the main highway near Morogoro.

The journey usually takes approximately 7+ hours, depending on road and weather conditions.

Upon arrival in Mikumi, you will check in at your camp and have time to relax and enjoy the evening.

Full Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

You will begin the day with an early morning game drive in Mikumi National Park. You may encounter lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife.

After the morning game drive, you will enjoy lunch at Mikumi Cottages.

In the afternoon, you will explore more of Mikumi, including scenic areas such as the hills and hippo pools. You will have time to enjoy the landscapes and observe wildlife.

In the evening, you will leave the park and visit a Maasai village, where you will learn about Maasai culture, traditions, lifestyle, and daily activities.
After the village visit, you will return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay, ready for your journey back to Dar es Salaam the following day.

Mikumi to Dar es salaam

After an early breakfast, you will depart from your camp and travel to Jakaya Kikwete SGR Station in Morogoro.

You will board the Tanzania SGR train for a comfortable journey back to Dar es Salaam. During the journey, you can relax and enjoy views of the countryside, villages, and beautiful landscapes.

Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport.
