Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Rather than beginning the adventure immediately, the first day is intentionally slow, giving you time to recover from your journey, settle into your surroundings and ease gently into your Kenyan experience.
The remainder of the day is at leisure. You may choose to relax at the hotel, enjoy the facilities, or simply take time to rest. This gentle beginning sets the tone for the journey ahead — travelling with intention, allowing yourself time to breathe, and enjoying the destination without rushing.

Day 2

David Sheldrick and Giraffe Centre

David Sheldrick and Giraffe Centre

After breakfast, begin your Nairobi experience with a visit to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where you will learn about elephant rescue, rehabilitation and conservation. The experience offers a deeper understanding of the challenges facing orphaned elephants and the work being done to give them a second chance in the wild.
Continue to the Giraffe Centre, home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. Here, you will learn about giraffe conservation and have an opportunity to observe these remarkable animals up close.
Later, visit Kazuri Beads, a Kenyan social enterprise renowned for its handmade beads, pottery and crafts. Beyond shopping, the visit provides an opportunity to appreciate local craftsmanship and learn about the social impact created through employment and skills development.
Return to your hotel later in the day and enjoy a relaxed evening.

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and begin your journey north towards Samburu. As you travel, the landscape gradually changes from the greener central highlands to the dramatic, arid scenery of northern Kenya.

Wake early for your first wildlife experience in Samburu. Set out on a morning game drive while the temperatures are cooler and wildlife is active. Explore the distinctive Samburu ecosystem and look out for some of northern Kenya’s special wildlife, including the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich.

Today takes you beyond traditional safari experiences and into the heart of conservation and community.
Visit Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, a community-owned elephant sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, caring for and rehabilitating orphaned elephants. Learn about the sanctuary’s conservation work and, importantly, the role that the local Samburu community plays in protecting wildlife.
Later, visit a Samburu village for a respectful cultural experience. Spend time learning about traditional ways of life, community structures, livelihoods, crafts and the relationship between the Samburu people and their environment.
The experience is designed around cultural exchange and understanding rather than simply observing from a distance. Return to your accommodation later in the day for a relaxed evening.
