Day 2

Tarangire

Tarangire is particularly famous for its enormous elephant population, spectacular baobab trees, seasonal rivers, and diverse landscapes. During the dry season, wildlife gathers around the Tarangire River and other water sources, creating excellent opportunities for close wildlife encounters. After entering the park, you will begin your game drive through the beautiful African wilderness. Keep your camera ready as you may encounter elephants moving through the woodland, giraffes feeding on acacia trees, zebras and wildebeest crossing the plains, as well as buffaloes, warthogs, impalas, also lions and leopards can also be spotted, while Tarangire’s diverse habitats support an impressive variety of bird species. As the day progresses, you will continue exploring different areas of the park with your experienced safari guide, who will help you understand the behavior of the animals, identify different species, and locate the best wildlife-viewing areas.

After breakfast, leave Tarangire behind and continue towards the legendary Serengeti National Park. The journey takes you through changing landscapes before opening into the vast plains for which the Serengeti is world-famous. Upon reaching the Serengeti, you will enter one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife ecosystems. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word meaning "endless plains," and as you explore the park, you will understand exactly why it received this name. Your first game drive will begin as you enter the park, giving you an immediate opportunity to start searching for wildlife. The Serengeti is home to enormous numbers of wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, and many other species and predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Continue towards your lodge or tented camp while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Serengeti.

Wildlife, Predators & Endless Plains

After breakfast, head out on a morning game drive with your guide. Each day in the Serengeti is different and wildlife sightings can never be completely predicted. This makes every game drive a new adventure, You will explore the plains and surrounding areas in search of animals that you may not have encountered during the previous days. You may come across large elephant herds, graceful giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, hippos, hyenas, and numerous bird species. The Serengeti's incredible scenery is just as memorable as its wildlife. Vast grasslands stretch towards the horizon, interrupted by rocky kopjes, acacia trees, rivers, and seasonal water sources.
After a picnic lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive. Your guide will choose the best areas to explore based on the season, weather, and current animal movements.

Wake up early for another exciting morning game drive in Serengeti National Park. The early morning hours provide excellent opportunities to observe wildlife when the animals are most active. Together with your experienced safari guide, you will explore different areas of the park in search of wildlife that you may not have encountered during your previous game drives. Depending on the season and the location of the herds, you may also have the opportunity to witness the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration. After the morning game drive, continue your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you leave the Serengeti, the landscape gradually changes from the endless open plains to rolling hills, woodland, and the beautiful highland scenery surrounding Ngorongoro. Your guide will continue to point out interesting landscapes, wildlife, and bird species as you travel towards your accommodation. Arrive at your accommodation near the Ngorongoro Crater in the afternoon.

The crater floor is a remarkable ecosystem made up of open grasslands, acacia woodlands, wetlands, lakes, and seasonal water sources, providing an ideal habitat for a wide variety of wildlife throughout the year.
