Your safari begins with your arrival in Kasane and the start of your Desert to Delta Expedition. After meeting your Leon Safaris guide, you travel into Chobe National Park and make your way towards the Chobe Riverfront.
You arrive at camp in time for lunch, giving you a chance to settle into your tent, meet the camp team and enjoy your first meal in the bush.
Later in the afternoon, you head out on your first game drive along the Chobe Riverfront. Elephant gather along the banks, buffalo move across the floodplains and antelope feed in the open grasslands, while predators are never far away.
As the light softens over the river, the landscape takes on the warm tones of late afternoon before you return to camp for dinner beneath the African sky.

A full day of exploring the Chobe Riverfront, beginning with an early morning game drive when temperatures are cooler and wildlife is at its most active.
The riverfront is famous for its large elephant herds, and throughout the day there are opportunities to see buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope and a wide variety of birdlife. Lion and leopard are also regularly encountered in the area, particularly during the quieter morning hours.
You return to camp for breakfast and spend the middle of the day relaxing, enjoying lunch and taking in the atmosphere of the riverfront.
In the late afternoon, you head out again for another game drive as animals begin moving back towards the water. The day ends with the warm light of sunset over the Chobe River before returning to camp for dinner and your second night in the wilderness.

Your begins with an early breakfast in camp before heading out for a final game drive along the Chobe Riverfront. This morning activity offers another opportunity to enjoy the area’s abundant wildlife before continuing deeper into Chobe National Park.
After the game drive, you begin the approximately five-hour journey to Savuti. The drive forms part of the safari experience, with the landscape gradually changing from riverfront habitats to dry woodland, open plains and the rugged terrain of Savuti.
Lunch is enjoyed along the way at a suitable stop, allowing time to relax before continuing the journey.
You arrive in camp in Savuti in the evening, where you can settle into your tent and enjoy dinner after a full day of travel and wildlife viewing.

Today is dedicated to exploring Savuti, one of Botswana’s most renowned predator regions. The day begins with an early morning game drive, when the cooler temperatures often bring increased wildlife activity across the plains and woodlands.
Savuti is especially well known for its abundance of predators. Lions are frequently seen moving through the area, while spotted hyenas, leopards and, at times, African wild dogs add to the sense of anticipation on every drive. The landscape also supports large numbers of elephant, giraffe, zebra and antelope, creating the constant interaction between predator and prey for which Savuti is famous.
You return to camp for breakfast and spend the middle of the day relaxing before lunch.
In the late afternoon, you head out again for another game drive, exploring waterholes, open plains and woodland as the heat begins to ease. As the sun sets over Savuti, you return to camp for dinner and another night surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

A key focus of the day is the Savuti Marsh, an area that changes dramatically with the seasons and attracts a wide variety of wildlife. The open grasslands surrounding the marsh are excellent for game viewing, with elephant, zebra, antelope and buffalo often moving through the area, while predators remain a constant possibility.
You also explore the area around Marabou Pan, an important water source that can draw large concentrations of animals during the drier months. The surrounding plains and woodland provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.
After returning to camp for breakfast and a relaxed midday break, you head out again in the afternoon for another game drive. The day offers a deeper look at Savuti’s diversity, from its marshlands and pans to its open plains and predator-rich habitats, before returning to camp for dinner and your final night in Savuti.

Welcome to Khwai
With an early breakfast in camp before departing Savuti and continuing south towards Khwai. The journey takes approximately five hours, depending on road conditions and wildlife sightings along the way.
As you leave Savuti behind, the landscape gradually changes as you travel through the Mababe Depression, a vast open area linking the Chobe and Moremi ecosystems. Lunch is enjoyed along the way in the Mababe area, surrounded by wide plains and the remote beauty of northern Botswana.
The journey then continues towards Khwai, on the edge of the Moremi Game Reserve. This region forms part of the greater Moremi ecosystem, where the dry landscapes of the north begin to meet the floodplains and waterways of the Okavango Delta.
You arrive in camp in Khwai in the evening, with time to settle into your tent before dinner. The changing landscape marks the beginning of a new chapter of the expedition, with the waterways and floodplains of the Moremi ecosystem now taking centre stage.

The day begins with an early morning game drive through riverine woodland, open floodplains and seasonal channels. Khwai is known for its excellent wildlife viewing, with regular opportunities to see elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, wild dog and a wide variety of antelope and birdlife.
Around midday, the experience shifts from land to water with a mokoro safari along the quieter channels of the Khwai area. Gliding silently through the reeds offers a completely different perspective of the landscape, with opportunities to appreciate water lilies, frogs, birdlife and the smaller details that are often missed from a vehicle.
After the mokoro experience, you return to camp for lunch and some time to relax.
Later in the afternoon, you head out once again for a game drive, exploring the floodplains and woodland as the temperature begins to cool and wildlife becomes more active. You return to camp in the evening for dinner and another night in the heart of the Khwai wilderness.

The morning begins with an early game drive through the floodplains, riverine woodland and open grasslands that characterise Khwai. These varied habitats support an exceptional range of wildlife, and the area is particularly well known for elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and African wild dog.
You return to camp later in the morning for breakfast, followed by time to relax during the warmer part of the day and enjoy lunch in camp.
In the afternoon, you head out again for another game drive, following the changing light across the floodplains and exploring different areas of Khwai in search of wildlife. As the day cools, animal activity often increases, creating excellent opportunities for further sightings before returning to camp in the evening.
Dinner is served in camp, bringing your final full day in Khwai to a close.

The morning begins with breakfast in camp before departing Khwai and continuing south into the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve towards Xakanaxa.
As you travel deeper into Moremi, the landscape becomes increasingly influenced by the Okavango Delta. Floodplains, lagoons, woodland and permanent waterways begin to dominate the scenery, creating one of the most diverse wildlife areas in northern Botswana.
The journey itself remains part of the safari, with opportunities to encounter elephant, buffalo, antelope and predators along the way.
You arrive in camp in Xakanaxa later in the day and settle into your tent before heading out for an afternoon game drive. This is your first introduction to one of the most scenic areas of the Delta, where land and water meet in a rich mosaic of habitats.
As evening approaches, you return to camp for dinner and your first night in Xakanaxa.

The day begins with an early morning game drive, exploring floodplains, woodland and lagoon edges in search of wildlife. Xakanaxa is home to a wide variety of animals, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, antelope and an exceptional diversity of birdlife.
Later in the day, you take to the water for a boat safari through the channels and lagoons of the Delta. Travelling by boat offers a completely different perspective of the landscape, with opportunities to see hippo, crocodile, waterbirds and wildlife moving along the banks.
You return to camp for lunch and time to relax before heading out again in the afternoon for another game drive.
As the sun begins to set over the Delta, you return to camp for dinner and your final night in Xakanaxa.

The early wake up marks the final morning of your Desert to Delta Expedition.
After an early breakfast in camp, you enjoy one last game drive through the Xakanaxa area before beginning the journey towards Maun.
The drive takes you through the changing landscapes of Moremi Game Reserve, offering a final opportunity to enjoy the wildlife and scenery of the Okavango Delta before leaving the wilderness behind.
You arrive in Maun later in the day, bringing your ten-night journey through northern Botswana to an end at your pre booked accommodation.
From the Chobe Riverfront to Savuti, Khwai and the waterways of Xakanaxa, Desert to Delta is a safari shaped by contrast, progression and the changing landscapes of Botswana’s wilderness.
