Day 1

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After breakfast, you will meet your professional mountain guide and drive to Marangu Gate, the entrance to Kilimanjaro National Park. Following registration and a briefing, your trek begins through the lush montane rainforest, one of the most beautiful sections of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The hike to Mandara Hut takes approximately 3–4 hours, covering 8 kilometers of scenic trails surrounded by towering trees, moss-covered vegetation, and diverse wildlife. Along the way, you may spot black-and-white Colobus monkeys, colorful bird species, and unique rainforest flora. Upon arrival at Mandara Hut, you can enjoy an optional walk to Maundi Crater, where breathtaking views of Northern Tanzania and neighboring Kenya await.

Day 2
Mandara Hut to Half Way towards Horombo Hut then descend to Marangu Gate

After breakfast, you will continue your trek beyond the rainforest and into the stunning moorland zone. The trail gradually ascends toward Horombo Hut, offering spectacular views of Mawenzi Peak and the majestic Kibo Summit. Along the way, you will pass unique alpine vegetation, including giant lobelias and giant groundsels, which are found only on high-altitude mountains.
After enjoying the scenery and reaching your turnaround point near Horombo Hut, you will descend back to Mandara Hut for lunch. Following lunch, continue your descent through the rainforest to Marangu Gate, where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Moshi.
