Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha.
Depending on your arrival time, spend the remainder of the day relaxing after your international journey and preparing for the safari adventure ahead.
Your guide can provide a short safari briefing either upon arrival or before departure the following morning.

Arusha to Ndutu | Journey to the Calving Grounds

After breakfast, meet your private safari guide and depart Arusha for the Ndutu region.
Travel through the scenic landscapes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before descending towards the vast plains of Ndutu. During the calving season, this wider ecosystem becomes an important gathering area for migrating wildebeest and zebra.
Enjoy a game drive as you approach Ndutu, with opportunities to encounter wildlife along the way before continuing to your camp.

Ndutu | Calving Season on the Short-Grass Plains

After breakfast, set out for a full day exploring the famous short-grass plains of the Ndutu ecosystem.
During the calving season, large numbers of wildebeest gather in this region, accompanied by zebra and other grazing animals. The presence of young calves and large concentrations of prey also attracts predators.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness and continue exploring during the afternoon, following wildlife movements across the plains.

Ndutu | Predators of the Southern Plains

Today is dedicated to exploring areas known for predator activity.
Search for lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas and other carnivores that inhabit the ecosystem and take advantage of the abundance of prey during the migration season.
With a private safari vehicle, you have the flexibility to spend more time at interesting sightings and enjoy wildlife behavior without following a rushed schedule.

Lake Ndutu & Lake Masek | Wildlife & Photography

Spend the day exploring the varied habitats surrounding Lake Ndutu, Lake Masek and the neighboring plains.
The mixture of woodland, seasonal lakes and open grasslands attracts a wide variety of wildlife and birdlife. Depending on rainfall and migration movements, your guide will select the most productive areas for the day's game drive.
Take time for photography and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the wilderness before continuing your afternoon exploration.

Ndutu | Following the Great Migration

Today's game drive is intentionally flexible, allowing your guide to follow the latest movements of the migration.
Wildebeest and zebra herds move according to rainfall, water and fresh grazing, meaning wildlife concentrations can change throughout the season. Your guide will use local knowledge and recent sightings to determine the best direction for the day.
Spend the day exploring different sections of the greater Ndutu ecosystem in search of large herds, predators and memorable wildlife encounters.

Ndutu | Final Game Drive – Karatu

Rise early for another game drive across the Ndutu plains, taking advantage of the cooler morning hours when wildlife can be particularly active.
This is your final opportunity to follow the migration herds, search for predators and revisit areas that have produced memorable sightings during the safari.
Later in the day, leave the Ndutu plains and travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards the highlands of Karatu.
Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon or evening for dinner and a relaxing final night.
