Day 2
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Today is dedicated to exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy and learning more about the important conservation work carried out here. The conservancy plays a major role in protecting endangered species, particularly black and white rhinos, and is also home to the last two northern white rhinos in the world.
During your game drive, your guide will explain more about the conservation projects, anti-poaching efforts and the balance between wildlife protection and local communities. Along the way, you’ll also search for elephants, lions, buffalo, cheetahs and many other species that live within the conservancy. Depending on your interests, additional activities can be added to the itinerary, such as a night game drive, lion tracking, a visit to the chimpanzee sanctuary or other conservation experiences. It is a full day combining excellent wildlife viewing with a deeper understanding of conservation in Kenya.

Along the way, you’ll pass small towns, open countryside and increasingly dramatic views as you approach Samburu.
On arrival, you’ll check in at your accommodation and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Samburu is known for its striking landscapes and wildlife species that are rarely seen further south, including Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and Somali ostrich. You may also encounter elephants, lions, leopards and large herds of antelope.
