Day 1

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative, who will be waiting with an A4 sign bearing your name. You will then be transferred to your hotel for check-in and some time to relax.

Later, enjoy a guided Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. The visit offers an important and moving insight into Rwanda’s history and its remarkable journey of recovery and reconciliation. Afterward, return to the hotel for a relaxing evening, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2

Transfer to Akagera National Park – Boat Cruise & Evening Game Drive

Transfer to Akagera National Park – Boat Cruise & Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, depart Kigali and travel eastward to Akagera National Park, Rwanda’s premier savannah wildlife destination. Upon arrival, enjoy a short game drive before proceeding to your lodge for check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, head to Lake Ihema for a scenic boat cruise. Keep an eye out for hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and other wildlife along the lake’s shores. The cruise will be followed by an evening game drive, offering opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife as the savannah comes alive toward sunset.

Day 3

Morning Game Drive – Return to Kigali

Morning Game Drive – Return to Kigali

Rise early for breakfast before heading into Akagera National Park for a morning game drive. This is an excellent time for wildlife viewing as animals are often active during the cooler hours of the morning. Look out for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, with some luck, lions and rhinos.

Akagera is also a fantastic destination for bird enthusiasts, with more than 500 recorded bird species. Around midday, begin the journey back to Kigali, with a stop for lunch along the way. Upon arrival in Kigali, check in at your hotel, enjoy dinner, and relax for the evening.

After breakfast, depart Kigali and travel north toward Musanze and Volcanoes National Park, home to Rwanda’s famous mountain gorillas. On arrival, visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, learning about the pioneering work of Dian Fossey and ongoing efforts to protect Rwanda’s mountain gorillas.

Continue to the fascinating Musanze Caves, formed by ancient volcanic activity from the Virunga Mountains. The caves have historical and cultural significance and were traditionally associated with local Kinyarwanda communities and royal ceremonies.

In the evening, enjoy a cultural village experience featuring traditional music and dance, providing an opportunity to connect with the local community and experience Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage.
