Nairobi to Samburu- Your Solo Adventure Begins

Your adventure begins with a personal pickup from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by your dedicated Lambwe Untamed Safaris driver-guide.
After a safari briefing and introduction to your guide, depart north toward Samburu National Reserve in your private 4×4 Land Cruiser. Traveling privately means there are no unfamiliar guests joining the vehicle and the day's pace can be adjusted around your preferences.
Enjoy the changing Kenyan landscapes as you travel from the central highlands toward the rugged and dramatically beautiful north. Comfort, refreshment and washroom stops can be incorporated along the journey.
Upon arrival in Samburu, check into your lodge, enjoy lunch or refreshments and take time to settle into your room.
Depending on arrival time and how you feel after the journey, enjoy an optional gentle afternoon game drive before returning to your accommodation for dinner.

Samburu- Discover the Samburu Special Five

Wake to the distinctive beauty of northern Kenya and begin your first full day of wildlife exploration.
After breakfast, head into Samburu National Reserve with your private guide in search of its remarkable wildlife. Samburu is particularly famous for the Samburu Special Five—the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk and Beisa oryx.
The Ewaso Nyiro River is the lifeline of this semi-arid ecosystem, attracting elephants and numerous other animals to its banks. Lions, leopards and cheetahs may also be encountered.
Because this is your private safari, wildlife viewing doesn't have to follow the pace of a group. Spend more time photographing an elephant herd, watching giraffes or simply appreciating the landscape whenever you wish.
Depending on your preferred pace, the day can include a picnic lunch in the wilderness or be divided into morning and afternoon game drives with a relaxing lunch break at the lodge.

This day comes with bush picnic lunch and deep exploration of Samburu before going back to the lodge.
The slower schedule also creates space to simply enjoy being on your own journey.

Lake Nakuru offers a different environment from Samburu and Ol Pejeta. Explore woodland, grassland and lakeshore habitats while looking for white and black rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks and numerous bird species.
