Nairobi to Amboseli Home of Big Giants

Your safari starts with a pick-up at 7:30 am from your Nairobi hotel or airport, from where you drive to Amboseli National Park.

You will arrive in Amboseli shortly after noon and check into your lodge/camp. Then, have a hot lunch and time to rest. At 4:00 pm, depart for an afternoon game drive.

The highlight of Amboseli is the remarkable concentration of elephants, the largest in the world! It is home to over 1,600 elephants from 56 different families. Each elephant has a name and a photo attached to it.

After the game drive, we will return to the lodge/camp, freshen up, and enjoy a freshly prepared dinner before your overnight stay.

Your wake-up time will be 6:30 am mounting facing you. You will have breakfast, then proceed with a full-day game drive in the park with a backdrop of Kilimanjaro. A picnic lunch will be served at the viewpoint.

After breakfast, depart for the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned worldwide for its extraordinary wildlife populations, big cats, and the spectacular annual wildebeest migration.

Drive across the scenic Rift Valley towards the vast savannah plains of the Mara. You will arrive in time for lunch and hotel check-in, then relax and refresh. More Guided Game Drive in Masai Mara

Today's itinerary is flexible, and you can discuss it with your driver-guide. Either have a full-day game drive or morning and afternoon drives.

The Masai Mara is famous for the annual wildebeest migration that takes place between July and October. During this time, over a million wildebeests, accompanied by thousands of other herbivores, migrate from Serengeti National Park to the Mara in search of greener pastures. Hundreds of lions and hyenas follow them, picking on the old and weaker ones. The legendary black-maned lion is only found in the Masai Mara. The cheetah hunts best in these open grasslands.
